摘要： The present invention relates to a motion vector detection method and system for detecting a motion vector for motion compensation in moving picture compression. The motion vector detection system reduces the amount of operations without degrading the quality of an image. A vector memory stores a motion vector having been obtained. A predicted motion vector calculator predicts the motion vector of a block to be predicted based upon the motion vector of a block adjacent to the block to be predicted. The search range determiner determines a search range based upon the motion vector predicted. The motion vector detector performs block matching within the search range.

摘要： In a packet retransmitting system for retransmitting a packet including a sequence number in a packet header, which is lost during packet communication, a transmitting equipment (110) includes a priority degree information attaching unit (113) for defining a plurality of priority degrees, setting an importance degree of each of the plurality of priority degrees for a packet, producing priority degree information by using the plurality of priority degrees, and attaching the priority degree information to the packet header included in the packet repeatedly for each of the plurality of packets, a transmitter (111) for transmitting the plurality of packets, and a retransmitting unit (119) for receiving a retransmission request packet and retransmitting a packet of which retransmission is requested in the retransmission request packet received. A receiving equipment (130) includes a receiving unit (131) for receiving the plurality of packets and a retransmission requesting unit (133) for extracting a plurality of sequence numbers and a plurality of priority degree information from the packet header, detecting lost packets based on the plurality of sequence numbers and the plurality of priority degree information extracted, detecting an important packet among the lost packets, and requesting retransmission of the packet.

The transmission apparatus includes a retransmission buffer for storing the packet having been transmitted to the reception apparatus, retransmission-request receiving means for identifying the sequence number and the largest sequence number in a retransmission-request packet received from the reception apparatus and notifying the sequence number and the largest sequence number, retransmission packet detecting means for detecting a packet to be retransmitted based on the notified sequence number, and retransmission means for retransmitting the packet to be retransmitted to the reception apparatus. The reception apparatus includes a reception buffer for storing the packet received from the transmission apparatus, receiving means for storing the packet received from the transmission apparatus in the reception buffer with sorting the packet in order of the sequence number, packet loss detecting means for detecting a packet loss, retransmission sequence number adding means for instructing to add the sequence number of the detected lost packet to a retransmission-request list, retransmission-request list managing means for adding the sequence number to the retransmission-request list based on the instruction to add, retransmission-request transmitting means for putting the sequence number stored in the retransmission-request list, in a retransmission-request packet and sending the retransmission-request packet to the transmission apparatus, and packet providing means for providing the packet in the reception buffer to the requestor.

摘要： In a communication system using a terminal connected to a packet network, the invention predicts a future communication state between terminals. This invention may also control congestion by delivering the packet according to the predicted future communication state. A receiving state monitor calculates a moving average of jitter and a packet loss rate based on a packet received by a packet receiver. A controller of a sending bit rate and an encoding rate obtains the moving average of jitter and the packet loss rate predicts a future communication state, and controls the sending bit rate and/or the encoding rate.
