    摘要: A display device has a front panel including a solar battery on its surface. At least one window is formed in the solar battery to permit viewing a character formed in the front panel. Energy produced by the solar battery is stored in a storage battery for illuminating light emitting devices situated behind the front panel. The illumination provides background lighting for characters in the window of the front panel. Another embodiment of the invention uses a solar battery with an illuminated layer behind the front panel on which characters are displayed by either removing unwanted segments of a pre-formed character on the front panel or by adding segments of the characters with masking material.

A plurality of conducting materials 52 are connected electrically with the conducting paste terminals 50a, 50d, and a protective resin film 82 is provided to protect the terminals. The protective resin film 82 has openings at positions corresponding to the conducting materials 52, and the openings are larger than the topside shape of the conducting materials 52. The conducting materials are disposed inside of the openings.

    摘要: A method of forming a lead-out electrode in an integrated-type photovoltaic device including photoelectric conversion cells connected to each other in series on a transparent substrate is to form a lead-out electrode portion or section by separating a laminate of a semiconductor photo-active layer and a back electrode layer into back electrode and lead-out portions by means of a scanned laser beam. The major part of the lead-out electrode portion is elongated and has, at the opposite end, enlarged sections for receiving external lead wires or conductors. Accordingly, the lead-out electrode portion occupies only a small area in the substrate and can be formed easily by scanning with a laser beam.
