摘要： An image forming apparatus employs an image carrier (photoreceptor) cartridge having protective covers of which surface is coated with conductive shield in order to prevent frictional charging that will bring on sparking between a photoreceptor and covers. Further, the photoreceptor cartridge is equipped on its surface with an elastic member which is a foam body having a plurality of foam cells for catching foreign matter such as paper particles in order to prevent the foreign matter from damaging the surface of the photoreceptor. Moreover, the photoreceptor cartridge is also equipped with a flick member for flicking off toner deposited on a conductive brush in order to prevent the brush from becoming dirty. Owing to the above-mentioned construction, the image forming apparatus can avoid degradation in image quality.

摘要： A developing apparatus is accommodated in an image forming apparatus to develop an electrostatic laten image formed on an electrostatic latent image support member, using two-component developer of toner and magnetic carrier. The developing apparatus is provided with a developing sleeve opposed to the electrostatic latent image support member, a magnetic roller disposed inside the developing sleeve to hold the carrier on a peripheral surface of the developing sleeve, a toner hopper accommodating the toner and having an opening at its one end, a toner supply roller rotatably disposed in the opening of the toner hopper and opposed to the developing sleeve, a bristle height adjusting member opposed to the developing sleeve on the downstream side of a developing region and on the upstream side of a toner supply region in a direction of movement of the carrier held on the peripheral surface of the developing sleeve. The developing sleeve confronts the electrostatic latent image support member in the developing region and the toner supply roller in the toner supply region.

摘要： An electrostatic latent image developing apparatus includes an agitating member accommodated in a casing, a roller member accommodated in a front of the casing, and a blade contacting under pressure with an outer circumferential portion of the roller member, which is arranged in the casing. Toner held on the outer circumferential portion of said roller member being supplied to develop an electrostatic latent image on the basis of rotation of the roller member while being regulated by the blade. The apparatus includes a partition member arranged between the roller member and the agitating member at an upper stream side of said blade corresponding to a rotary direction of the roller member. The casing has a space defined among the partition member, the blade, and the outer circumferential portion of the roller member.

摘要： A paper feeder for feeding a large supply of paper to a recording apparatus such as a copying machine. The recording apparatus has a main body with a driving apparatus therein, an automatic feed mechanism therein including paper storage cassettes and an automatic feed for feeding recording paper from the cassettes, and a manual feed for feeding into the apparatus recording paper manually inserted thereinto. The paper feeder has a recording paper accommodating unit for accommodating a larger number of sheets of recording paper than the cassettes, the unit having a sheet feeder for feeding the recording paper out of the unit, and releasable engaging hooks for removably attaching the unit to the main body with the feed positioned in a position opposed to said manual feed of the apparatus for delivering sheets of recording paper to the manual feed. The apparatus drive is connected to the sheet feeder when the unit is attached to the main body, whereby when the unit is attached to the main body with a multiplicity of sheets of recording paper accommodated therein, the sheets can be fed to the interior of the apparatus through the manual feed.

摘要： The present invention is a projection device for a photocopying machine in which the original documents are moved during the photocopying process and which permits photocopying both of thick and of thin original documents. The projection means includes a focussing means which has a short focal length and is positioned to correctly focus the image of thin original documents which are brought to an exposure station and are only separated space-wise from the focussing means onto a photosensitive material, and a transparent block which, when a thick original document is copied, is automatically interposed between the focussing means and the exposure station and compensates the deviation in the path of image-wise light caused by the transparent carrier on which the thick original document is supported, whereby good resolution is achieved in photocopies of all types of original documents.

摘要： An erasing device includes a sheet-like erasing member. The erasing member is supported by an electric charger in contact with the image bearing member for erasing a residual electric charge from the image bearing member. Preferably, the erasing member is supported by a supporting member which in turn is supported by the electric charger. Therefore, the erasing member can be disposed relative to the image bearing member with a greater precision without using any additional rigid member. Also, the image bearing member can be erased without any defect, which results in that the image bearing member is uniformly charged in the subsequent charging.

摘要： A developing apparatus includes a photosensitive drum positioned in confronting relation to a developing sleeve. A toner accommodating tank is provided for supplying toner to the developing sleeve. The toner accommodating tank is divided into a small chamber and a supplementary chamber which are separated from one another by a partition which permits toner to be supplied from the supplementary chamber to the small chamber but which prevents the return of toner from the small chamber to the supplementary. A movable shutter selectively permits and prevents toner from being supplied from the supplementary chamber to the small chamber in accordance with operation of the apparatus.

摘要： A developing apparatus is disposed adjacent to an electrostatic latent image support member in an image forming apparatus, and includes a rotatable developing sleeve confronting the electrostatic latent image support member, a magnetic roller disposed inside the developing sleeve for holding magnetic carrier on a peripheral surface of the developing sleeve, and a plurality of toner supply units confronting the developing sleeve for supplying toner to the developing sleeve. The magnetic roller accommodates a plurality of magnetic poles extending in a direction of its axis. Each toner supply unit is provided with a toner supply roller rotatable in contact with a magnetic brush held on the developing sleeve and a toner storing portion for storing the toner. A control device and an operation panel is also provided for selectively rotating either of the toner supply rollers by means of a driving source, for selecting the toner stored in any of the toner supply units, and for controlling the movement of the toner supply roller.

摘要： The heat and pressure rolls of a fusing apparatus for an electrophotographic copying machine are shifted into pressure contact with one another while a support sheet bearing a toner powder image passes therebetween, and are separated while the sheet is not therebetween. A driving mechanism drives both rolls when not in contact, while one of the rolls drives the other while in pressure contact. A shifting mechanism is actuated by a sheet detector for shifting the rolls into and out of contact.In another embodiment, the rolls are in light rolling contact, with no sheet passing therebetween, under the weight of one of the rolls idly mounted in place. A pressing mechanism presses the rolls into pressure contact, upon actuation by a sheet detector, while the sheet passes between the rolls.
