摘要: According to the present invention, an apparatus for optically performing recording of information and/or reproduction of information for an optical disk having a recording surface is provided. The apparatus includes: an optical pickup for forming a first light spot on the recording surface; a tilt sensor, arranged to be transported with the optical pickup, for detecting a tilt of the optical disk with respect to an optical axis of the optical pickup by forming a second light spot on the recording surface; and a tilt compensating mechanism for angularly adjusting the optical pickup to eliminate the tilt. In this apparatus, the second light spot is formed at such a position that a line between the first and second light spots is inclined to a direction perpendicular to the radial direction of the optical disk. This prevents the second light spot from entering mirror regions having no pits or no grooves, even when the first light spot is located on the inner circumference of an information recording region having pits or grooves or on the outer circumference of the information recording region.

摘要: Methods and systems reconstruct and verify aortic blood pressure waveforms from peripheral blood pressure waveform data using mathematical models. The models combine analytical models of pulse wave propagation in the cardiovascular system with empirical models derived from measurements taken from human subjects. When used to reconstruct the aortic pressure of a given subject, the models are adjusted to the subject and the subject's physiological state based upon measurements performed on the subject's cardiovascular system.

摘要: A blood pressure measurement of a blood pressure measuring device is terminated by a blood pressure measurement terminating device, when a difference .vertline.D.sub.M -D.sub.CP .vertline./D.sub.CP between a phase difference D.sub.M obtained according to a phase difference-blood pressure relationship based on a monitor blood pressure value MBP determined by a monitor blood pressure determining device, and an actual phase difference D.sub.CP obtained by a phase difference calculating device, when the blood pressure measurement of the blood pressure measuring device starts, is smaller than a reference value .alpha.. Thus, so long as the pressure pulse wave-blood pressure relationship is effectively applicable, no blood pressure measurement is carried out for updating the current pressure pulse wave-blood pressure relationship, so that the frequency of blood pressure measurements using a cuff is decreased and the discomfort of a living subject is reduced.

摘要: A pulse wave detecting apparatus for detecting a blood pressure pulse wave of an arterial vessel of a subject, based on an oscillatory motion of at least one contact element which is adapted to be depressed against a surface of a body member of the subject, such that each contact element is iscillated in response to the pulsation of the arterial vessel. The apparatus includes a main frame for supporting each contact element such that the contact element is movable relative to the main frame fixed in position on the surface of the body member. A positioning device is provided, which is capable of at least moving the contact element relative to and along the body surface, in a direction perpendicular to the arterial vessel, to thereby locate one of the at least one contact element right above the arterial vessel. A pressing device is provided for moving each contact element relative to the main frame, in a direction toward the surface, for forcing each contact element against the surface.
