Abstract: Systems and methods for non-invasive blood pressure measurement are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system comprises a wearable member configured to generate first and second signals (e.g., PPG signals), and a blood pressure calculation system. The blood pressure calculation system includes a wave selection module configured to identify subsets of waves of the signals, a feature extraction module configured to generate sets of feature vectors form the subsets of waves, and a blood pressure processing module configured to calculate an arterial blood pressure value based on the sets of feature vectors and an empirical blood pressure calculation model, the empirical blood pressure calculation model configured to receive the sets of feature vectors as input values. The blood pressure calculation system further includes a communication module configured to provide a message including or being based on the arterial blood pressure value.

Abstract: Mandibular repositioning devices have a mandibular piece having a first teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion, a protrusive flange extending cranially from each housing, and a maxillary piece having a second teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion. Each housing encloses a power source electrically connected an on-board circuit board and the housings of the maxillary piece further have the power source electrically connected to a motor operatively connected to a drive for anterior and posterior movements of the mandibular piece. The maxillary piece sits on the mandibular piece with the driver operatively engaged with the protrusive flange. The protrusive flange has a concavely-shaped anterior surface mated to a convexly-shaped head of the driver shaped to match the concavely-shaped anterior surface of the protrusive flange.

Abstract: A chest non-invasive blood pressure detecting probe based on pulse wave transit time and a device thereof are provided. The detecting probe is attached closely to the skin surface of the human chest, and includes a probe body and a patch, which are of split type. The patch is attached and mounted, in a male-female fastener form, on the probe body for use, so that when the patch needs to be replaced, the patch is directly removed and replaced with a new patch, which is convenient for use. The detecting probe is portable and used for continuous dynamic real-time acquiring of the human aortic blood pressure, which is free from the constraints of lead wires, small and comfortable, and high in measuring precision.

Abstract: A system includes piezoelectric nanofibers, an encapsulation polymer, and patterned electrodes in an array. The array structure of the electrodes can create separate piezoelectric sensor elements, which can detect pressure from pressure such as arterial pulse waves. The sensors arrays can be used to detect the pulse wave velocity of the arterial pulse while it is superficial to near-surface arteries. This can enable detection of blood pressure in a wireless manner.

Abstract: An apparatus for estimating cardiovascular information includes: a main body; and a strap connected to the main body and formed to be flexible to be wrapped around an object, wherein the main body may include: a pulse wave measurer configured to measure, from the subject, a first pulse wave signal by using a first light of a first wavelength, and a second pulse wave signal by using a second light of a second wavelength, the first wavelength being different from the second wavelength; a contact pressure measurer configured to measure a contact pressure between the object and the pulse wave measurer; and a processor configured to extract a cardiovascular characteristic value based on the first pulse wave signal, the second pulse wave signal, and change in the contact pressure, and estimate cardiovascular information based on the extracted cardiovascular characteristic value.

According to an aspect, a portable training computer includes a communication circuitry including a radio frequency antenna and configured to transmit a radio frequency signal through the antenna, a measurement circuitry coupled to the antenna and configured to measure an electric property of the antenna, and at least one processor configured to, in a first measurement mode, detect presence of an object in proximity with the antenna on the basis of the measured electric property, and in a second measurement mode, detect motion of a body of a user of the portable training computer with respect to the antenna on the basis of the measured electric property and compute a cardiogram of the user in the basis of the detected motion.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of measuring a physiological parameter in a contactless manner. The method includes acquiring a plurality of image frames for a subject, acquiring a first color channel value, a second color channel value, and a third color channel value for at least one image frame included in the plurality of image frames. The method further includes calculating a first difference and a second difference on the basis of the first color channel value, the second color channel value, and the third color channel value for at least one image frame included in the plurality of image frames. The first difference represents a difference between the first color channel value and the second color channel value for the same image frame, and the second difference represents a difference between the first color channel value and the third color channel value for the same image frame.

Abstract: An apparatus may include a platen, a light source system and an ultrasonic receiver system. The light source system may be configured to provide light to a target object on an outer surface of the platen. The light source system may be configured to direct the light along a first axis oriented at a first angle relative to the outer surface of the platen. The ultrasonic receiver system may be configured to receive ultrasonic waves generated by the target object responsive to the light from the light source system. The ultrasonic receiver system may include one or more receiver elements residing in a receiver plane. A normal to the receiver plane being may be oriented along a second axis at a second angle relative to the outer surface of the platen. The first angle may be different from the second angle.
