摘要: A fluid bladder has a first fluid bladder region that inflates due to receiving a supply of fluid and is contained in a portion of an outer circumferential surface of a measurement site in a lengthwise direction of a cuff, the portion corresponding to a first half surface, where an artery is. Also, the fluid bladder has an expansion region that is expanded due to an action from outside, and is contained at a portion of the outer circumferential surface of the measurement site that corresponds to a second half surface, in the lengthwise direction of the cuff. During inflation for blood pressure measurement, a stroke amount by which the expansion region expands is larger in the thickness direction than a stroke amount by which the first fluid bladder region swells.

摘要: A method and apparatus for indirect, quantitative estimation of beat-to-beat arterial blood pressure utilizing the individualized rectifying technique. A function TK=H(P) that describes the relationship between Korotkoff's sound delay time Tk and cuff pressure P is obtained by measuring the different cuff pressure P and corresponding Tk in the Korotkoff's sound sensor that is distal to the cuff. Keep the cuff pressure at a constant value Pm, the blood pressure variance can be calculated using the Korotkoff's sound delay time Tkm, according to the function Tk=H(P). The invention can measure the beat-to-beat artery blood pressure indirectly. The technique can be applied to obtain individual coefficient of regress equation for continuous arterial blood pressure measurement by the instantaneous blood pressure fluctuation, which make the rectifying technique more safe, effective and less erroneous. The technique makes the operation of noninvasive continuous blood pressure measurement for long time more practical.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for assessing endothelial function in a mammal. In certain embodiments the methods involve using a cuff to apply pressure to an artery in a subject to determine a plurality of baseline values for a parameter related to endothelial function as a function of applied pressure (Pm); b) applying a stimulus to the subject; and applying external pressure Pm to the artery to determine a plurality of stimulus-effected values for the parameter related to endothelial function as a function of applied pressure (Pm); where the baseline values are determined from measurements made when said mammal is not substantially effected by said stimulus and differences in said baseline values and said stimulus-effected values provide a measure of endothelial function in said mammal.

摘要: In a sphygmomanometer, a value representing a perimeter of a measuring portion is obtained. A parameter for controlling a drive voltage of a pump is determined based on the value. The drive voltage is determined based on the parameter and an internal pressure of a fluid bladder to pressurize the fluid bladder. In pressurizing process, a diastolic blood pressure value is calculated. A systolic blood pressure value is estimated, and when the internal pressure of the fluid bladder reaches the pressure, the pressurizing is stopped. A gap of a valve for discharging the fluid from the fluid bladder is determined based on a perimeter of a measuring portion, and the fluid bladder is depressurized with the gap constant. In the depressurizing process, the systolic blood pressure value is calculated. When the systolic blood pressure value is calculated, the fluid is discharged from the fluid bladder, and the measurement is terminated.

摘要: An apparatus for an accurate automated non-invasive measurement of blood pressure waveform using brachial (occlusion) cuff pressurized above systolic pressure and using differential pressure sensor. The methodology involves measurement in suprasystolic mode and in utilization and construction of the device followed by algorithms for processing and analysis of measured blood pressure pulse waves and assessment of hemodynamic parameters of human cardiovascular system. The device includes an electro-pump connected to the collar device, a differential pressure sensor, pressure senor A, pressure sensor B, valve, closing a valve and the air reservoir. The cuff is wrapped around a person's arm. The values of the instantaneous pressure in the pneumatic portion of the device are converted into an electric signal by the pressure sensor A, pressure sensor B and the differential pressure sensor. These signals are then filtered using a set of passive RC elements for filtering out high frequency interference, and fed to the microprocessor with a computing unit, analog to digital converter. The sampling frequency is sensed signal at least 200 Hz. The control algorithm in the microprocessor, according to signals from the pressure sensor A further controls the course of cuff pressurization, controls the control valve, and finally determines the closing and opening of the closing valve. A microprocessor further controls a display and the data may be transmitted to the PC.

摘要: A patient monitoring system includes an inflatable cuff, a gas reservoir containing a compressed gas, and a sensor. When the inflatable cuff is coupled to a wearer, the gas reservoir supplies gas to the inflatable cuff to inflate the inflatable cuff via gas pathways. As the inflatable cuff inflates, a patient monitor can receive blood pressure data from the sensor and use the blood pressure data to determine the blood pressure of the wearer. The patient monitor can also receive blood pressure data during deflation of the inflatable cuff to determine the blood pressure of the wearer.
