    摘要: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for preserving data integrity comprising a data storage library adapted to receiving data from a host computer. The data storage library comprises a mobile random access storage device for storing the data when the mobile random access storage device is operatively linked with a docking station wherein a data storage library comprises the docking station. Once the data is stored on the mobile random access storage device, the time elapsed is kept track of with an accounting means. The mobile random access storage device is adapted to be unlinked from the docking station, such as for purposes of archiving the mobile random access storage device for example. A user can be notified when the elapsed time the data was stored on the mobile random access storage device has reached a time limit. Upon indicating that the data on mobile random access storage device should be restored, the mobile random access storage device can be re-linked with the docking station for data restoration. A new elapsed time for the restored data can then be accounted for.
