Abstract:
An electronic device with touch-link functionality includes a touch panel, a signal processing circuit and a controller. The touch panel includes a first transmitting electrode for transmitting a first signal. The signal processing circuit provides the first signal to the first transmitting electrode. The first signal has a first frequency that is adjustable. The controller is coupled to the touch panel and the signal processing circuit. The controller adjusts the first frequency to make the first frequency correspond to an effective communications range. Within the effective communications range, another electronic device with touch-link functionality is able to receive the first signal, whereas outside the effective communications range, the another electronic device with touch-link functionality is unable to receive the first signal.
Abstract:
An electronic device including a touch sensor and a processing unit is provided. The touch sensor is disposed on or under a display, and generates touch data for a touch detected thereon or therenear when the electronic device is locked with the display in a sleep state. The processing unit determines whether the touch data matches a predetermined signature according to the touch data, and wakes the display from the sleep state and unlocks the electronic device when the touch data matches the predetermined gesture.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device including a touch sensor and a processing unit is provided. The touch sensor is disposed on or under a display, and uses a power level to generate first touch data for a touch detected thereon when the display is in a sleep state. The processing unit configures the touch sensor to increase the power level to generate second touch data for the touch when determining that the touch corresponds to a predetermined gesture with a first similarity probability greater than a first threshold according to the first touch data, and wakes the display from the sleep state when determining that the touch corresponds to the predetermined gesture with a second similarity probability greater than a second threshold according to the second touch data, wherein the second threshold is greater than the first threshold.

A portable device is provided. The portable device includes: a display; a controller, a processor, a housing, and a touch rim. The controller and the processor are installed inside the housing. The touch rim is configured to detect a gesture performed on the touch rim to generate at least one touch detection signal. The controller is configured to receive at least one detection signal from the touch rim, and to transmit the touch detection signal to the processor. The processor analyzes the touch detection signal to determine the gesture performed on the touch rim, and performs an operation associated with the gesture.
Abstract:
A mobile device including a wireless communication unit, a touch panel including a transmitting electrode and a processing unit is provided. The wireless communication unit is configured to transmit a transaction request to a server and receive transaction data from the server. The transmitting electrode is configured to transmit payer data to a receiving electrode of a touch panel device. The processing unit is configured to process a signature on the touch panel to get a signature characteristic, generate payer data according to the signature characteristic and the transaction data, and provide the payer data to the touch panel. The payer data is forwarded to the server by the touch panel device and, when the payer data passes verification by the server, the transaction request is approved.
