    Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a seamless and secure motherboard replacement system and method are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions that, upon execution, cause the IHS to when a previous motherboard is replaced with a replacement motherboard; detect that the previous motherboard has been replaced with the replacement motherboard, access context data associated with the previous motherboard from a storage unit configured in the IHS, the context data comprising configuration settings of the previous motherboard, and update the replacement motherboard according to the stored context information.

    Abstract: A supervisory service of a node that includes a smart input/output (I/O) peripheral is extended into a cloud operator domain that is associated with the smart I/O peripheral. The supervisory service determines a state of a ready state indicator that is provided by the smart I/O peripheral. Based on the state, the supervisory service performs at least one of regulating an availability of an instance of an application operating environment of the node or determining whether the smart I/O peripheral is ready to be configured by the supervisory service.

    Abstract: A control device of the present embodiment has a communication I/F, a built-in non-volatile memory, a controller, an external-serial-memory I/F, a security management module, and an access controller. The communication I/F enables communication with outside. The built-in non-volatile memory has a first storage region, which stores an initialization program which carries out initialization operation, and a second storage region, which stores currently used firmware which is executed after the initialization operation and acquires firmware for update via the communication I/F. The controller executes the initialization program and the currently used firmware. The external-serial-memory I/F communicably connects the device of its own to an external non-volatile memory via a serial bus. The security-mode management module fixes an access control setting of the built-in non-volatile memory and the external non-volatile memory. The access controller outputs a level signal different from the serial bus.
