The present disclosure provides a method and an electronic device capable of performing a display adjustment. The method comprises: obtaining a first brightness value corresponding to light flux to enter user eyes at a first time; obtaining a second brightness value corresponding to light flux to enter user eyes at a second time later than the first time; determining whether a brightness difference between the first brightness value and the second brightness value is greater than a threshold value; and in events where the brightness difference between the first brightness value and the second brightness value is greater than the threshold value, enabling an adjustment mode of the electronic device, wherein the adjustment mode comprises increasing a transition time period of a transition from the first brightness value to the second brightness value and adjusting either of both of brightness of a backlight and brightness of a screen content according to the transition from the first brightness value to the second brightness value with the increased transition time.

The color compensation method comprises: obtaining one or more brightness values for an original image from at least one of a screen brightness value and an ambient brightness value of the electronic device; determining whether each of the one or more brightness values is lower than a corresponding one of one or more threshold values, respectively; and enabling a color enhancement mode in events where each of the one or more brightness values is lower than the corresponding one of one or more threshold values, respectively, wherein the color enhancement mode comprises performing a color saturation compensation to enhance a saturation of the original image for display on a screen of the electronic device.

A method may obtain a first brightness value corresponding to a first time and obtain a second brightness value corresponding to a second time later than the first time. The method may determine whether to enable an adjustment mode of the electronic device according to a difference between the first brightness value and the second brightness value. The adjustment mode may involve increasing a transition time period between the first brightness value and the second brightness value. The adjustment mode may also involve adjusting a screen brightness value to be displayed on a screen according to the transition from the first brightness value to the second brightness value with the increased transition time.

A method may involve obtaining a desired emitted brightness value for a brightness module or a display module implementable in a display device. The desired emitted brightness value may be between a first configured emitted brightness value and a second configured emitted brightness value of a plurality of configured emitted brightness values outputable by the brightness module. The second configured emitted brightness value may be higher than the first configured emitted brightness value. The method may also involve determining one of the first configured emitted brightness value and the second configured emitted brightness value to be an actual emitted brightness value outputted by the display module or the brightness module. The method may further involve determining a gain for adjusting brightness of an image content outputted by the display module to compensate a difference between the desired emitted brightness value and the actual emitted brightness value.

Techniques and implementations related to determination of an optical condition surrounding a portable electronic apparatus and adjustment of display thereby are described. A method may involve sensing a property of an ambient light in at least a first direction and a second direction different from the first direction with respect to the portable electronic apparatus. The method may also involve determining whether any of one or more optical conditions is met based on the sensing. The one or more optical conditions may correspond to one of one or more scenarios surrounding the portable electronic apparatus, respectively. The method may further involve adjusting one or more operational parameters related to the portable electronic apparatus responsive to the determining.
