Abstract: A delivery tool of a system for deploying medical diagnostics and/or therapy includes a deployment member and a sheath. An elastic cantilever element secured to a tubular sidewall of the deployment member, in proximity to a distal opening of a lumen formed by the sidewall, is spring biased to extend outward from the sidewall. When the cantilever element is received within the sheath, a sheath sidewall pushes the cantilever element inward, against the spring bias thereof, and a radius of curvature of the cantilever element approximately conforms to that of an outer surface of the deployment member sidewall. A helical track for receiving passage of a medical device helix fixation element therein may extend around a perimeter of the deployment member lumen, wherein a distal terminal end of the track is located in close proximity to the distal opening and generally opposite a free end of the cantilever element.

Abstract: A tethering assembly for securing a medical device includes a shaft and a wire that extends in sliding engagement within a proximal lumen, a channel, and a distal receptacle of the shaft. A retainer zone of the shaft, through which the channel extends, stops a transition segment of the wire, which extends between a proximal and a distal segment of the wire, from moving into the shaft receptacle, thereby restraining a distal-most tip of the wire from moving through a distal-most opening of the receptacle. When a projecting member of the device has entered a secure zone of the receptacle, via movement through the distal-most opening and a tapering passageway thereof, the distal-most tip of the wire, which may be spring-biased, can move distally into the passageway so that the tip blocks the projecting member from moving distally, back through the passageway.

Abstract: A medical electrical lead may include a lead body formed to define a first lumen extending from the proximal end to a location near the distal end and having a first central axis. The lead includes an electrode located near the distal end of the lead body and an energy dissipating structure located near the distal end of the lead body, the energy dissipating structure including a conductive main portion that defines a second lumen having a second central axis that is offset relative to the first central axis of the first lumen defined by the lead body and a conductive transition portion that extends towards the first lumen defined by the lead body. A conductor contacts the energy dissipating structure within the transition portion of the energy dissipating structure to provide a substantially continuous interference contact with the energy dissipating structure.
