摘要: Devices and methods for tissue lesion assessment and/or creation based on dielectric properties are disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more probing frequencies are delivered via electrodes including an electrode in proximity to a tissue (for example, myocardial tissue). Measured dielectric properties (such as impedance properties), optionally together with other known and/or estimated tissue characteristics, are used to determine the lesion state of the tissue. In some embodiments, a developing lesion state is monitored during treatment formation of a lesion (for example, ablation of heart tissue to alter electrical transmission characteristics).

摘要: A diagnostic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) procedure is applied to measure values of impedance-related parameters for one or more sensing electrodes. The parameters may include real impedance, imaginary impedance, impedance magnitude, and/or phase angle. The measured values of the impedance-related parameters are then used in performing sensor diagnostics, calculating a highly-reliable fused sensor glucose value based on signals from a plurality of redundant sensing electrodes, calibrating sensors, detecting interferents within close proximity of one or more sensing electrodes, and testing surface area characteristics of electroplated electrodes. Advantageously, impedance-related parameters can be defined that are substantially glucose-independent over specific ranges of frequencies. An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) enables implementation of the EIS-based diagnostics, fusion algorithms, and other processes based on measurement of EIS-based parameters.

摘要: Systems and methods for evaluating neuromodulation via hemodynamic responses are disclosed herein. A system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a neuromodulation catheter comprising an elongated shaft having a distal portion, and a plurality of electrodes spaced along a distal portion. The system can further include a controller communicatively coupled to the electrodes. The controller can be configured to apply first and second stimuli at and/or proximate to a target site within a blood vessel before and after delivering neuromodulation energy to the target site, and detect, via at least one of the electrodes, vessel impedance resulting from the first and second stimuli to determine a baseline impedance and a post-neuromodulation impedance. The controller can further be configured to assess the efficacy of the neuromodulation based, at least in part, on a comparison of the baseline impedance and the post-neuromodulation impedance.

摘要: A Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) guidewire and method of use includes at least two pairs of small surface area, closely spaced electrodes spaced axially along the length of the guidewire to allow one electrode pair to be positioned on each side of a coronary stenosis. The electrodes can sense electrical signals from the myocardium immediately adjacent to the electrodes, enabling the guidewire to record and analyze an Intra-Coronary Electrogram (ICEG) and heart pacing, and, therefore, facilitate more accurately diagnosis of an individual patient's stenosis and provide a more patient specific diagnosis of clinical need.

摘要: There is provided a system for monitoring a heart of a subject and monitoring impedance-related parameters, comprising: a feeding tube, an electrode disposed(s) on a distal end of the feeding tube, a controller that performs, while the feeding tube is in located in an esophagus and feeding is delivered to a subject via the feeding tube, in a plurality of iterations: continuously measuring voltage at the electrode(s) of the feeding tube, applying alternating current(s) between the electrode(s) of the feeding tube and at least one other electrode, computing impedance measurement(s) from the electrode(s) of the feeding tube according to the applied alternating current(s) and the measured voltage, computing impedance-related parameter(s) based on the impedance measurement(s), terminating the application of the alternating current(s), obtaining an electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement based on the voltage measured at the electrode(s) of the feeding tube, and providing the impedance-related parameter(s) and the ECG measurement.

摘要: An intervertebral implant includes a body adapted to be implanted into an intervertebral space of a patient, the body defining a fusion aperture, and at least one cartridge with each cartridge disposed in the body and at least partially extending into the fusion aperture. Each cartridge includes an impedance sensor configured to measure electrical resistance, a radio frequency (RF) transmit antenna configured to transmit a RF signal, and circuitry for recording data from the impedance sensor and transmit the recorded data to an external clinician computing device through the RF transmit antenna. Such collection and use of data can be used to provide improved orthopedic outcomes.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a medical device for treating a cancerous tumor, the medical device having a first lead including a first wire and second wire; a second lead can include a third wire and fourth wire; and a first electrode in electrical communication with the first wire, a second electrode in electrical communication with the second wire, a third electrode in electrical communication with the third wire, and a fourth electrode in electrical communication with the fourth wire. The first and third electrodes form a supply electrode pair configured to deliver one or more electric fields to the cancerous tumor. The second and fourth electrodes form a sensing electrode pair configured to measure an impedance of the cancerous tumor independent of an impedance of the first electrode, the first wire, the third electrode, the third wire, and components in electrical communication therewith. Other embodiments are also included herein.

An equivalent circuit model is defined, and circuit elements are used to characterize sensor behavior.
