摘要： The present invention relates to an ink-jet ink, an ink-jet recording material or an ink-jet system containing at least one water-soluble hindered amine compound of the general formula (I): wherein G1 and G2 are independently alkyl 1 to 4 carbon atoms or are together pentamethylene; Z1 and Z2 are each methyl, or Z1 and Z2 together form an unsubstituted linking moiety or a linking moiety substituted by one or more groups selected from an ester, ether, hydroxy, oxo, cyanohydrin, amide, amino, carboxy or an urethane group; E is alkoxy of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkoxy of 5 to 12 carbon atoms or aralkoxy of 7 to 15 carbon atoms, or E is —O-T-(OH)b; T is a straight or branched chain alkylene of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene of 5 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkenylene of 5 to 18 carbon atoms, a straight or branched chain alkylene of 1 to 4 carbon atoms substituted by phenyl or by phenyl substituted by one or two alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; b is 1, 2 or 3 with the proviso that b cannot exceed the number of carbon atoms in T, and when b is 2 or 3, each hydroxyl group is attached to a different carbon atoms of T; and, HY is an inorganic or organic acid; and, wherein the total change of cations is equal to the total charge of anions.

摘要： Benzotriazole UV absorbers which are substituted at the 5-position of the benzo ring by an electron withdrawing group exhibit enhanced durability and very low loss rates when incorporated into automotive coatings. This is particularly the case when the 3-position of the phenyl ring is also substituted by phenyl or phenylalkyl such as &agr;-cumyl. Compounds where the 5-position of the benzo ring are substituted by perfluoroalkyl such as trifluoromethyl are particularly of interest for both their enhanced durability and for their excellent solubility and excellent color properties in some thermoplastic compositions when the phenyl ring is substituted at the 3-position by hydrogen or tert-alkyl.

摘要： Compounds of formula I or II where R is an aryl moiety, such as phenyl, naphthyl or biphenylyl, or is phenyl substituted by one or more trifluoromethyl, bromo or cyano, and E1 and E2 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl and the like are prepared by reaction of a benzotriazole substituted on the 5-position of the benzo ring by a halogen atom with a arylboronic acid or ester in the presence of a transition-metal catalyst, such as palladium (II) diacetate. The benzotriazole compounds of formula I are particularly efficacious as stabilizers for automotive coatings and candle wax.

摘要： Provided is a process for preparing 2H-benzotriazole UV absorbers containing a perfluoroalkyl moiety at the 5-position of the benzo ring, for example a trifluoromethyl group, which involves diazotizing the perfluoroalkyl substituted o-nitroaniline using concentrated sulfuric acid plus sodium nitrite or nitrosylsulfuric acid to form the corresponding monoazobenzene intermediate via the diazonium salt intermediate which is reduced to the corresponding 5-perfluoroalkyl substituted 2H-benzotriazole UV absorber compound by conventional reduction means. Also provided is a novel one-pot, multiphase reaction for the preparation of 2(2-nitrophenylazo) substituted phenols, which are precursors for 2H-benzotriazole UV absorbers.
