摘要： The invention provides a process for preparing azo colorants which comprises spraying one or more coupling components individually or in a mixture and one or more compatible diazonium salts individually or in a mixture, in their solution or suspension form through nozzles to a point of conjoint collision in a reactor chamber enclosed by a housing in a microjet reactor, a gas or an evaporating liquid being passed into the reactor chamber through an opening in the housing for the purpose of maintaining a gas atmosphere in the reactor chamber, and the resulting product solution or suspension and the gas or the evaporated liquid being removed from the reactor through a further opening in the housing by means of overpressure on the gas entry side or underpressure on the product and gas exit side.

摘要： A process which comprises admixing in the absence of a solvent an amine of the formula R1—NH2 and a first ester of the formula wherein R2 is an electron withdrawing group and R3 is an alkyl group; heating the mixture containing the amine and the first ester to form an intermediate compound of the formula admixing the intermediate compound with a base and a second ester of the formula said second ester being present in a molar excess relative to the intermediate compound, said base being present in a molar excess relative to the intermediate compound, and heating the mixture to form a pyridone compound of the formula or a salt thereof. Also disclosed is a process for preparing diazopyridone colorants which comprises preparing a pyridone compound by the above process and reacting the pyridone compound with a diazonium salt to form a diazopyridone compound.

摘要： Provided is a process for preparing 2H-benzotriazole UV absorbers containing a perfluoroalkyl moiety at the 5-position of the benzo ring, for example a trifluoromethyl group, which involves diazotizing the perfluoroalkyl substituted o-nitroaniline using concentrated sulfuric acid plus sodium nitrite or nitrosylsulfuric acid to form the corresponding monoazobenzene intermediate via the diazonium salt intermediate which is reduced to the corresponding 5-perfluoroalkyl substituted 2H-benzotriazole UV absorber compound by conventional reduction means. Also provided is a novel one-pot, multiphase reaction for the preparation of 2(2-nitrophenylazo) substituted phenols, which are precursors for 2H-benzotriazole UV absorbers.
