    摘要: A system, method, and computer program product is provided for remote vehicle diagnostics, telematics, monitoring, configuring, and reprogramming. The system includes an on-board unit disposed on at least one vehicle, an application-service-provider infrastructure, and an interface. The on-board unit is operable to send and receive data corresponding to at least one vehicle operating characteristic. Located on the application-service-provider infrastructure is an application suite. The application suite includes at least one modular application each of which has an associated function that processes said data obtained via the on-board unit. The interface is operable to select from the application suite at least one of the modular applications that will use the associated function to diagnose, monitor, configure, reprogram, and/or obtain telematic information from the at least one vehicle.

    摘要: A vehicle information system including a computing system, a vehicle application, an access-layer application, a vehicle-application database, and a communication adapter is provided. The computing system may run an operating system and a plurality of applications. The vehicle application, which is executable by the computing system, may provide policy processing of a parameter received from the access-layer application. The access-layer application has a first interface adapted to communicate with the vehicle application and a second interface adapted to communicate with the operating system. The vehicle-application database may house information for processing the parameter. The communication adapter may pass the at least one parameter between the second interface and the vehicle controller. The access-layer application is operable obtain the information from the vehicle-application database, and to process the parameter as a function of the information so as to pass the processed parameter between the first and second interfaces.

    摘要: A remote vehicle diagnostics, monitoring, configuration and reprogramming tool is provided. The system includes a fleet of vehicles equipped with wireless mobile communications means that enable fleet managers to remotely diagnose, monitor and reprogram vehicles in their fleet via an Internet Web-based browser environment. Each vehicle within the fleet is equipped with a smart device that is coupled to the data bus within each vehicle. Date commands relating to the vehicle's parameters (e.g., diagnostic parameters such as max road speed, engine RPM, coolant temperature, air inlet temperature, etc.) are sent and received using satellite and terrestrial wireless communications technology. The invention allows users to remotely perform total fleet logistics and eliminates (or reduces) the need to physically bring fleet vehicles to a repair, maintenance or configuration facility.

The first device is adapted to send the vehicle characteristic information over a communication link. The second device is adapted to receive from the first device over the communication link the vehicle characteristic information. When the second device integrates the vehicle diagnostic information into the information management system, the first and second devices are operable to function as the ERP system.

    摘要: A method and system of power management for a vehicle communication interface that provides a connection between a diagnostic tool and the vehicle is provided. Power for the vehicle communication interface may be provided by the vehicle or the diagnostic tool depending on the configuration of the interface and tool. The vehicle communication interface can detect a presence of vehicle power and operate in full power mode when the vehicle power is available. Alternatively, the vehicle communication interface can detect the absence of vehicle power, receive power from the diagnostic tool, and start out in low power mode. The interface can then request or negotiate via USB standards for additional power from the diagnostic tool.
