摘要: The electronic device is for at least one of transmitting and receiving signals, has a housing 500 and at least a GPS (Global Positioning System) antenna 510 that is operatively connected to the housing 500. A control system 708 automatically moves the GPS antenna 510 from a docked position relative to the housing 500 to a deployed position relative to the housing 500 in response to an occurrence of at least one predetermined event.

摘要: A portable subscriber device that is arranged and constructed to augment and facilitate interfaces to the device includes a wireless local area transceiver; an internal user interface; and a controller coupled to the internal user interface and the wireless local area transceiver. These elements are cooperatively operable for executing the method including: detecting an external device that is capable of providing an interface to the portable subscriber device; determining whether the external device is available as an interface to the portable subscriber device; and when available as an interface, establishing a wireless link between the portable subscriber device and the external device that will support the interface.

摘要: A communication system and a method of communicating data. A first backhaul site can be dynamically selected from a plurality of backhaul sites that are each configured to wirelessly communicate with an access point. A controller can dynamically configure a transmission parameter used to communicate a first backhaul data stream between the access point and the first backhaul site. The first backhaul data stream can be derived from a source data stream and can be wirelessly communicated between the access point and the first backhaul site. A second backhaul site also can be selected. A second backhaul data stream also can be derived from the source data stream and wirelessly communicated between the access point and the second backhaul site. The first and second backhaul data streams can be combined.

摘要: A server (102) receives (302) from an originator a group message directed to an address associated in the server with a pre-defined plurality of recipients whose coupling to the wireless communication system at any given time is either active or inactive. The server stores (304) the group message, and transmits (316) the group message to each recipient of the pre-defined plurality of recipients whenever the recipient is actively coupled to the wireless communication system. The server indicates (318) thereafter to the originator that the recipient has received the group message.

摘要: A method of data coding is disclosed. The method comprises (204) generating a plurality of transmission frames (100) for a set of source information, wherein each transmission frame construction represents the entire set of source information. Each transmission frame construction comprises N speech frames, wherein each speech frame is coded with a coding scheme selected from a plurality of coding schemes. The method further comprises selecting (208) from the plurality of transmission frames a single transmission frame construction, which, when decoded provides the best perceptual reconstruction of the source information in comparison to the remaining transmission frames of the plurality of transmission frames.

摘要: A handheld electronic device (100) includes at least one context sensing circuit and a microprocessor (204), and a user interface (212). The sensing circuit detects (205) either a contextual characteristic of the device (e.g., ambient light, motion of the device or proximity to or contact another object) or how the user is holding the device and generates a virtual output (207) representative of the sensed characteristic. The sensed contextual characteristic is associated with a data management function of the device and a virtual physical representation to be output in response to the execution of the data management function is determined. The virtual physical representation is related to the sensed contextual characteristic or the data management function. The virtual physical representation is output by a user interface of the device.

摘要: A handheld electronic device (100) includes at least one context sensor (120) and a microprocessor (204), and a user interface (104). The context sensor detects (306) either a contextual characteristic of the device (e.g., ambient light, motion of the device or proximity to or contact another object or how the user is holding the device) and generates a virtual output (310) representative of the sensed characteristic. The sensed contextual characteristic is associated with a data management function of the device and a virtual physical representation to be output in response to the execution of the data management function is determined (308). The virtual physical representation is related to the sensed contextual characteristic or the data management function. The virtual physical representation is output by a user interface of the device.

摘要: A wireless communication network, and a method thereof, for communicating with a remote device (104) via a wireless link comprising a transceiver (202) and a processor (204). The transceiver (202) obtains preference information relating to the remote device (104). The processor (204) adjusts time-to-live (TTL) information of at least one media content item based on the preference information. Also, the transceiver (202) provides a first media content item and a first TTL information associated with the first media content item to the remote device (104). In addition, the processor (204) identifies a second media content item associated with the first media content item, and determines a second TTL information based on the first media content item.
