摘要: Various embodiments relating to displaying viewpoints from a point of interest are disclosed. One embodiment includes displaying an entry point that includes a link to a view of a three dimensional scene from a point of interest, receiving a selection of the entry point from the user, retrieving a predetermined path of a plurality of predetermined viewpoints located around the point of interest, displaying the view of the three dimensional scene, the view being a rendering of the three dimensional scene from a first predetermined viewpoint in the plurality of predetermined viewpoints, displaying an interaction interface including a control to scroll along the predetermined path to a next location on the predetermined path, receiving a selection of the control, and displaying a second view of the three dimensional scene, the second view being a rendering of the three dimensional scene from the next location.

摘要: Architecture that enables the preservation of label readability in a scene (e.g., map, map tiles, graphical background, etc.) by way of label orientation relative to a fixed heading on a plane or curved surface. After identifying an initial fixed heading, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene along that heading without changing the camera heading as measured relative to a fixed point does not alter label orientation. In a mapping implementation, after identifying an initial fixed camera heading over terrain of the Earth, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene without changing the camera heading as measured relative to some fixed point does not change label orientation. The orientation of labels may be changed if the heading of the camera is altered, but this change is delayed until camera movement quiesces.

摘要: Systems and methods for generating hashmaps are presented. According to the disclosed subject matter, computer users can identify a geo-location (a real-world geographic location) irrespective and independent of any known entity at the geo-location and associate content with regard to the identified location. The combination of the user-specified location and the corresponding, associated content is a “hashmap.” Additional information may be associated and included with a hashmap, including access restrictions to the hashmap by others, a user identifier of the creator of the hashmap, and a date and time. Users can search for hashmaps related to a particular area by submitting hashmap requests to a hashmap service.

摘要: Systems and methods for sharing a map context of an originating computer user with a plurality of other users is presented. An originating user identifies at some of a plurality of result cards displayed in conjunction with a map displayed in a browser view with one or more other users. A shared URL is generated according to the map context comprising at least the selected result cards. The shared URL is configured such that navigation by another browser on another computing device according to the shared URL displays the map context in a browser view of the another browser and the selected result cards in conjunction with the map in the browser view.
