    摘要: A photosensitive coloring composition including a photo-polymerizable monomer, a resinous binder, a polymerization initiator, a coloring agent and a solvent, and having an exposure sensitivity property in which γ (=tan θ) is confined to 1.33 or more and a residual rate of a film of the photosensitive coloring composition after development is 0% at an exposure dose of not more than 23% of the minimum exposure dose that makes the residual rate of the film not lower than 85%, when a rising angle of an exposure sensitivity curve is defined as θ in the exposure sensitivity curve to be derived by plotting exposure sensitivity in coordinates with an abscissa thereof representing common logarithm of the exposure dose and with an ordinate thereof representing the residual rate of the film after development.

    摘要: A color filter includes red, green and blue filter segments and is adapted to be used in a liquid crystal display device using, as a light source, a white LED having specified spectral properties. The red filter segment has a 50% transmittance wavelength within a range of 595 to 610 nm and a transmittance of 85% or more at a wavelength of 630 nm. The blue filter segment has a maximum transmittance wavelength of 455 nm or less and a transmittance of 55% or more at a wavelength of 450 nm. A thickness of each of the red, green and blue filter segments is 3.0 μm or less. A liquid crystal display device including this color filter and the white LED is also disclosed.

The array substrate includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an alignment sustaining layer. The first electrode has a comb-teeth shape. The second electrode has a comb-teeth shape, faces the first electrode, and includes a protruding portion protruding from the first electrode in a direction where comb teeth are arranged. The alignment sustaining layer is formed above a surface of the array substrate being in contact with the liquid crystal layer and gives liquid crystals a pre-tilt to a direction in which the second electrode protrudes from the first electrode, in a direction in which the comb teeth are arranged.

    摘要: A coloring composition for a color filter includes a transparent resin, an organic pigment dispersed in the transparent resin, and a retardation-regulating agent dispersed in the transparent resin and containing a compound which is capable of increasing retardation in the thickness direction to minimize the difference in retardation among colored pixels. A color filter having colored pixels formed on a transparent substrate uses this coloring composition. A liquid crystal display device using this color filter may have improved black image quality and contrast.

    摘要: A counter substrate for liquid crystal display includes a transparent substrate, a black matrix, and stripe transparent electrodes. The black matrix divides a plane surface of the transparent substrate into pixel or sub-pixel unit to form a light-shielded area and openings above the plane surface. The stripe transparent electrodes are formed into the pixel unit or the sub-pixel unit above the plane surface. The black matrix includes a frame pattern including two sides facing each other in parallel in the pixel or the sub-pixel unit, and a linear central pattern which is parallel to the two sides of the frame pattern and is formed at a midsection of the pixel or the sub-pixel unit. The transparent electrodes are each parallel to the two sides of the frame pattern and the central pattern and are located symmetrically to the central pattern.
