    摘要: A color filter includes red, green and blue filter segments and is adapted to be used in a liquid crystal display device using, as a light source, a white LED having specified spectral properties. The red filter segment has a 50% transmittance wavelength within a range of 595 to 610 nm and a transmittance of 85% or more at a wavelength of 630 nm. The blue filter segment has a maximum transmittance wavelength of 455 nm or less and a transmittance of 55% or more at a wavelength of 450 nm. A thickness of each of the red, green and blue filter segments is 3.0 μm or less. A liquid crystal display device including this color filter and the white LED is also disclosed.

    摘要: A color filter includes red, green and blue filter segments and is adapted to be used in a liquid crystal display device using, as a light source, a white LED having specified spectral properties.     摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate and a counter substrate that face each other with a liquid crystal layer therebetween. The array substrate includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an alignment sustaining layer. The first electrode has a comb-teeth shape. The second electrode has a comb-teeth shape, faces the first electrode, and includes a protruding portion protruding from the first electrode in a direction where comb teeth are arranged. The alignment sustaining layer is formed above a surface of the array substrate being in contact with the liquid crystal layer and gives liquid crystals a pre-tilt to a direction in which the second electrode protrudes from the first electrode, in a direction in which the comb teeth are arranged.

    摘要: A coloring composition for a color filter includes a transparent resin, an organic pigment dispersed in the transparent resin, and a retardation-regulating agent dispersed in the transparent resin and containing a compound which is capable of increasing retardation in the thickness direction to minimize the difference in retardation among colored pixels. A color filter having colored pixels formed on a transparent substrate uses this coloring composition. A liquid crystal display device using this color filter may have improved black image quality and contrast.
