摘要: A steering damper mounting structure of a vehicle includes a head pipe, a front fork, a fork bridge, and a steering damper. The front fork, which suspends a front wheel, is steerably disposed on the head pipe. The fork bridge connects left and right members of the front fork. The steering damper is mounted on the fork bridge and the head pipe. The steering damper dampens a steering directional movement transmitted from a road surface to a handlebar via the front wheel and the front fork. A lower mounting portion on a side of the head pipe is disposed on a side of an axis as a center of pivotal motion of the front fork relative to the fork bridge, more specifically, an upper mounting portion on a side of the top bridge. The resulting configuration reduces the size of a front portion of a vehicle and a steering damper.

An upper end of a coil spring of a shock absorber includes a tubular damper case, a rod connected to a piston disposed within the shock absorber and protrusively provided to be capable of making strokes with respect to the tubular damper case and an external hydraulic sub-tank positioned to be lower than an upper end of the shock absorber. Vehicle body component parts include a connecting tube and the sub-tank disposed to be close to the shock absorber above the coil spring.

摘要: A steering damper device for a saddle riding vehicle includes a tubular damper including a cylindrical damper cylinder and a piston rod slidably passed through the damper cylinder. Either the damper cylinder or the piston rod is supported on an upper frame or a down frame of the saddle riding vehicle. The upper frame extends rearwardly from a head pipe through which a steering shaft passes and which holds the steering shaft therein rotatably about an axis thereof. The down frame extends downwardly from the head pipe. The steering shaft rotates with a bottom bridge. The tubular damper is disposed such that an axis thereof is disposed on a vehicle width direction central plane. The tubular damper extends or contracts as the bottom bridge rotates. The tubular damper extends or contracts within a space between the upper frame and the down frames in a side view.

摘要: A vehicle shock absorber includes a plurality of communication holes axially provided side by side in a peripheral wall of the cylinder of the damper, another communication hole provided in a peripheral wall of the cylinder and located below a position of piston of the damper, and a third oil chamber provided in an outer tube and an inner tube of a fork body and outside the cylinder and communicating with only a second oil chamber via the communication holes. This configuration enables the vehicle shock absorber to make a damping force generated by the damper positional dependent, and suppresses the entering of an air bubble into the cylinder, even when a cylinder of the damper is located above an oil level in an oil reservoir within the absorber body.

摘要: A chain guide device wherein it is unnecessary to make a chain guide body a thick and heavy member to enhance the productivity of the chain guide body. The chain guide body is split into a left guide half having a left-side upper split surface and a left-side lower split surface which are formed along a longitudinal direction of a chain and a right guide half having a right-side upper split surface and a right-side lower split surface. The guide bodies, which are roughly U-shaped, can be easily demolded after injection molding to enhance productivity. The contact of the chain with the split surfaces is lessened, as compared with the case where split surfaces are inclined at an angle relative to the longitudinal direction of the chain. Accordingly, wearing of the split surfaces is restrained, and it is unnecessary to make the chain guide body greater in thickness and weight.

In this steering damper mounting structure, the steering damper is mounted to the head pipe and the top bridge and disposed on the side of the top bridge between the top bridge and the bottom bridge. Additionally, a light unit is disposed on the side of the bottom bridge between the top bridge and the bottom bridge.
