    Abstract: An impact tool including an electric motor, a housing containing the electric motor, a battery receptacle including a cylindrical damper pocket, and an isolation member disposed within the battery receptacle and configured to selectively receive a battery pack to electrically connect the battery pack to the electric motor. The isolation member including a damper post. An elastomeric damper is coupled to the damper post and received within the damper pocket. The elastomeric damper has a cylindrical shape coinciding with the cylindrical damper pocket, wherein during operation of the impact tool, the elastomeric damper attenuates relative motion between the damper post of the isolation member and the damper pocket of the battery receptacle in both axial and radial directions of the damper post which, in turn, attenuates vibration from being transmitted from the housing to the battery pack.

    Abstract: An impact tool includes a housing having a motor housing portion and an impact housing portion, an electric motor supported in the motor housing, a battery pack supported by the housing for providing power to the motor; and a drive assembly supported by the impact housing portion. The drive assembly includes an anvil extending from the impact housing portion, a hammer that is both rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil for imparting consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil, and a spring for biasing the hammer in an axial direction toward the anvil. The impact tool further includes a boot covering the impact housing portion, a front retainer arranged on the boot, a plurality of lenses in the front retainer, a plurality of LEDs respectively arranged within one of the lenses, and a rear retainer arranged between the boot and the impact housing portion.

    Abstract: An impact tool includes an electric motor and a housing containing the electric motor, the housing including a battery receptacle. The battery receptacle includes an isolation member configured to selectively and detachably couple to a battery pack to electrically connect the battery pack to the electric motor. The isolation member includes opposed rails configured to be received into sliding engagement with channels formed in the housing. The battery receptacle also includes an elastomeric damper supported within the housing. During operation of the impact tool, the isolation member is configured to translate relative to the housing and impact the elastomeric damper which, in turn, is configured to attenuate the transmission of vibration from the housing to the battery pack.

    Abstract: A tape measure including a housing arranged to enclose an internal cavity, where the housing defines a front wall. A port is formed in the housing and spaced a non-zero distance from the front wall. A measuring tape is at least partially disposed within the internal cavity of the housing and extends through the port. The measuring tape is rotatably coupled to the housing. A finger guard assembly is positioned adjacent the front wall, such that the finger guard assembly cooperates with the port to define a space therebetween. The measuring tape passes through the space outside of the housing to facilitate the control of the retraction and extension of the measuring tape through contact within the space.

    Abstract: A power tool having multiple wireless communication states and a method of wirelessly communicating by a power tool. The power tool includes a motor, a battery pack interface that selectively receives a battery pack, a backup power source, and a wireless communication controller coupled to the backup power source and the battery pack interface. The wireless communication controller operates in a connectable state when coupled to a battery pack and transmits tool operational data to the external device and receives tool configuration data from the external device. The wireless communication controller operates in an advertisement state when the wireless communication controller is coupled to and powered by the backup power source. In the advertisement state, the wireless communication controller is configured to transmit the unique tool identifier. The external device may also display an indication of the communication state of the power tool.

    Abstract: A tape measure includes a housing arranged to substantially enclose an internal cavity, the housing defining a tape port, and a tape positioned partially within the housing, the tape including an end portion that extends through the tape port and out of the housing. A hook is coupled to the end portion and a finger guard assembly is coupled to the housing and spaced apart from the tape port. The end portion extends through an aperture in the finger guard assembly and is movable between a retracted position in which the hook abuts the finger guard assembly and an extended position in which the hook is spaced apart from the finger guard assembly.

    Abstract: A tape measure for measuring a workpiece includes a housing, a coilable measuring tape at least partially disposed within the housing and having a first end extendable out of the housing, and an end hook member including an attachment portion and a hook portion. The attachment portion is arranged to engage a first surface of the first end of the tape to attach the end hook member to the tape.
