Upon EDTV2 broadcasting, the switches are respectively electrically connected to the E sides and a three-dimensional comb filter is made up of the memory and the subtracter, whereby a composite signal obtained by combining a carrier chrominance signal and a horizontal resolution supplementary signal is separated from the video signal. The switch is electrically connected to the E side and a three-dimensional comb filter is made up of the memory, a subtracter, etc., whereby a horizontal resolution supplementary signal is separated from a composite signal in accordance with a field-to-field process. The capacity of each of the memories can be efficiently used and hence a system can be integrated into compact form.
