Abstract: A converter for converting AC power from an AC power supply into DC power and outputting the DC power, an inverter for converting the DC power outputted from the converter into AC power of a variable frequency and a variable voltage value, and supplying the AC power to a load, a shunt resistor for detecting an output current of the converter, and a control device for controlling the inverter based on the detected output current are provided. The control device calculates an input current of the converter from the output current detected by the shunt resistor, and, when the calculated input current exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the control device causes the manner of operation of said inverter to be changed so as to reduce the input current of the converter.

Abstract: A power conversion apparatus includes: a rectifying unit that rectifies an AC voltage input from an AC power supply to convert the AC voltage into a DC link voltage; a capacitor that is charged with a DC link voltage converted by the rectifying unit; a power application unit that converts the DC link voltage with which the capacitor is charged into an AC voltage by switching the DC link voltage, and outputs the AC voltage to a motor; and a control unit that controls the power application unit. The control unit controls the power application unit such that a second beat is superimposed on a motor current, the second beat having a second frequency different from a first beat having a first frequency included in the motor current and having at least one of an amplitude or a phase aligned with the first beat.

Abstract: A motor driving device includes an inverter to supply an alternating current, a switch unit that switches the number of at least one permanent magnet synchronous motor to which the alternating current is supplied from the inverter, a detector to detect a detection value corresponding to the alternating current supplied to the at least one permanent magnet synchronous motor, and a control device to control the inverter and the switch unit. The control device sets an overcurrent interruption threshold value at a value based on the number. When the detection value is greater than or equal to the overcurrent interruption threshold value, the control device makes the inverter stop the supplying of the alternating current to the at least one permanent magnet synchronous motor.

Abstract: Included are a rectifier circuit that rectifies a first alternating-current voltage; a reactor connected to the rectifier circuit; a capacitor connected to an output end of the rectifier circuit; an inverter that is connected to the capacitor, generates a second alternating-current voltage through operations of a plurality of switching elements, and applies the second alternating-current voltage to a motor including a stator and a rotor; and a control unit that performs operation controls on the plurality of switching elements.
