    摘要: The actual value of a parameter from a laser range finder to a target is determined by adjusting the measured parameter by a measurement error. The error adjustment is based on the relationship between the intensity of the detected pulse and the expected parameter error. The laser range finder has a laser diode for emitting a laser pulse to a target to produce a reflected pulse, and a detector for receiving the reflected pulse. A measurement circuit is coupled to the detector for determining a measured parameter based on the reflected pulse. An integrator is coupled to the detector for determining the pulse area, and therefore, the intensity of the reflected pulse. A processor is coupled to the measurement circuit and the integrator for adjusting the measured parameter based on the pulse area of the reflected pulse, to provide the actual value of the parameter.

    摘要: A vehicle anti-collision device comprising a laser rangefinder mounted inside a vehicle near to a windshield thereof. The distance of the vehicle from a leading vehicle is constantly calculated and sampled at predetermined time intervals, enabling the closing velocity of the vehicle with respect to the leading vehicle to be calculated. A digital speedometer is provided for determining the self-speed of the vehicle whereby the safety time between the two vehicles may be calculated. The safety time is displayed and an audible alarm is sounded in the event that the calculated safety time is less than a predetermined threshold. Preferably, the rangefinder is coupled to the vehicle's steering mechanism so as to be responsive to a turning radius of the vehicle in order that the rangefinder may distinguish between two vehicles travelling in the same lane and in different lanes, respectively. Likewise, provision is made for compensating for the elevation angle of the rangefinder beam for variations in load distribution within the vehicle.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are described for an accurate determination of the concentration of a gas, vapor or a gas dissolved in a sample which compensate for variations in temperature and light - source intensity. The apparatus comprises a sensor containing a fluorescent reagent connected to a transfer optic, such as fiber optics prism or glas pipes, and to a reference sensor containing the same fluorescent reagent. The reference sensor is encapsulated in an environment containing air. The light emitted from the first sensor and the reference sensor is determined and recorded automatically, the concentration of the gas being calculated based on the output from said light detectors using calibration data of the fluorescent reagent present in the sensors. The reagent is immobilized in the sensor by a glue, such as a silicon glue.
