摘要: In a radio communication apparatus having both portable telephone portion and radio paging portion, the portable telephone portion comprises a portable telephone transmission/reception unit 21, a control unit 23, a speech transceiver 25, a display unit 27, and an operation unit 29, while the radio paging portion comprises a radio paging receiver unit 31, the control unit 23, the display unit 27, the operation unit 29, a tone generation announcement unit 33, a silent announcement unit 35, an announcement mode memory 39, and a reception information memory 37. It is assumed that the operation unit 29 selects "a delayed announcement mode after completion of communication" and stores this mode in the announcement mode memory 39. In this event, when the radio paging operation is received during communication of the portable telephone portion, the control unit 23 makes the silent announcement unit 35 carry out call announcement in a silent mode and makes the reception information memory 37 memorize a message. After completion of the communication, the control unit 23 makes the tone generation announcement unit 33 announce reception of the radio paging operation during communication and makes the display unit 27 collectively display the reception information.

摘要: A radio paging receiver receives a paging signal including at least a paging number signal and a message signal which follows the paging number signal. The receiver detects a paging signal which is intended therefor, by comparing the received paging number signal with a pre-stored paging number signal. Upon detection of the intended paging signal, the receiver searches the received message signal for a specific message signal which satisfies a condition that is pre-stored in a RAM of the receiver. If the receiver finds a message signal satisfying the pre-stored condition, it displays the message signal and/or enables at least one of a speaker, an LED indicator and a vibrator according to notification information that is also pre-stored in the RAM. The message searching condition and the notification information are pre-stored in the RAM through a keyboard coupled to the receiver.

摘要: A radio selective calling receiver including an exchangeable first battery and a second battery which can be charged by the first battery. A CPU stops operating at a stop voltage. A RAM stores a user data. A stop detector detects operational stop of the CPU. A power supply changer changes one of the first and second batteries into the other and selectively supplies one of electric energies of the batteries to the CPU, RAM and stop detector. The minimum operable voltages of the RAM and the stop detector are lower than the stop voltage. The first battery supplies its electric energy to the CPU, RAM and stop detector until the supply voltage of the first battery lowers to the stop voltage. The power supply changer changes the first battery into the second battery when the operational stop of the CPU is detected, so that the second battery supplies its electric energy to the CPU, RAM and stop detector until the first battery thus lowered in supply voltage is exchanged by a new one. The capacity of the first battery can be effectively used without any malfunction of the receiver and no troublesome reinput action is required for the user.

摘要: In a selectively called radio receiver in which a demodulated signal of a specific bit rate is produced with battery saving kept in synchronism with the demodulated signal, a bit rate detecting unit detects the bit rate with a controllable sensitivity while the synchronism is lost. A bit rate detecting control arrangement controls the sensitivity within a predetermined sensitivity range. The bit rate detecting unit may misdetect the bit rate with a variable misdetection rate which is accumulated to an incremented amount from an initial amount representative of no misdetection while the synchronism is lost. The bit rate detection control arrangement may decrement the misdetection rate to the initial amount when the incremented amount reaches a predetermined amount. Alternatively, the bit rate detection control arrangement may control the misdetection rate between a greater and a smaller amount and then cause the misdetection rate to return to the initial amount. In either event, the bit rate detection control arrangement controls the sensitivity within a predetermined range.

摘要: A power source control apparatus for use in electronic equipment of the type including a microprocessor and a main power source in the form of a battery controls a boosting circuit which boosts the output voltage of the battery to produce an operating voltage of the equipment. Connected in parallel to the battery are the boosting circuit and a power switch for producing a power ON/OFF signal. A reset/set flip-flop is connected between the boosting circuit and the power switch. The boosting circuit is operable only when the output of the flip-flop has a set state. Even when the power ON/OFF signal becomes a low level, i.e., OFF state, the flip-flop maintains its output in a set state until a power control signal is fed thereto from the external equipment. The period of time for which the operating power should be held after the turn-off of the power switch can be freely determined to suit the external equipment. Further, a reset signal generating circuit is provided for producing a predetermined reset signal depending upon the state of the flip-flop output.

摘要: A selective paging receiver with message display has a receiver section, a number setting circuit, a paging number detector, and a display panel. The receiver section receives paging signals sent to the paging receiver, and recovers a paging number data signal and a message data signal from the paging signals. The message data signal includes both individual message data for the paging receiver, and common message data for the paging receiver in common with a preselected group of similar receivers. A number setting circuit assigns both a preselected individual paging number and a preselected common paging number to the receiver. The paging number detector searches for the individual paging number in a particular group time frame of the paging number signal. This time frame corresponds to a paging receiver group to which the paging receiver belongs. The paging number detector conducts a parallel search for the common paging number without regard for the particular group time frame. Upon detection of the individual paging number, the paging number detector outputs an individual detection signal. Upon detection of the common paging number, the paging number detector outputs a common detection signal. The display responds to the individual detection signal by displaying the contents of the individual message data and responds to the common detection signal by displaying the contents of the common message data.

摘要: In a radio paging receiver comprising a receiving section (11), a decoder section (12), and a CPU (13) for distinguishing a specific one of a plurality of call signals and processing a specific message signal succeeding the specific call signal into a processed message signal, the receiving section is intermittently put into operation. The decoder section is put into operation in accordance with a first clock signal which is supplied from a first clock generator (16). A switching circuit (20) selectively connects the CPU with the first clock generator and a second clock generator (17). More particularly, the CPU is put into operation in accordance with a second clock signal which is supplied from the second generator when the receiving section does not operate. The frequency of the second clock signal is much higher than that of the first clock signal. Therefore, the CPU processes the specific message signal into the processed message signal at a rapid processing speed in accordance with the second clock signal when the receiving section is not put into operation.
