    摘要: A radio selective calling receiver including an exchangeable first battery and a second battery which can be charged by the first battery. A CPU stops operating at a stop voltage. A RAM stores a user data. A stop detector detects operational stop of the CPU. A power supply changer changes one of the first and second batteries into the other and selectively supplies one of electric energies of the batteries to the CPU, RAM and stop detector. The minimum operable voltages of the RAM and the stop detector are lower than the stop voltage. The first battery supplies its electric energy to the CPU, RAM and stop detector until the supply voltage of the first battery lowers to the stop voltage. The power supply changer changes the first battery into the second battery when the operational stop of the CPU is detected, so that the second battery supplies its electric energy to the CPU, RAM and stop detector until the first battery thus lowered in supply voltage is exchanged by a new one. The capacity of the first battery can be effectively used without any malfunction of the receiver and no troublesome reinput action is required for the user.

    摘要: A radio paging receiver enables an user of the receiver later to see a received message even when an alert stopping operation or message confirmation operation is first executed in an environment too dark to see the received message. The receiver has a photosensor for detecting whether a display environment is light or dark. If the alert stopping operation is executed in the dark condition, the received message is stored in a memory as an unconfirmed message, so that the user later can see and read the received message in a light condition after a change of the environment. In addition, when the environment is changed from a dark condition to a light condition, if an unconfirmed message exists in the memory, the receiver alerts the user.

CPU (53) thereafter captures image data (DP2) from external memory (63) as required. In a mobile camera mode, a power source for external memory (63) is turned off. After image data (DP1) has been temporarily buffered in internal memory (75), encoder (74) performs the compression-coding processing on image data (DP1) from internal memory (75) to convert image data (DP0) into image data (DP2) in a time-division manner during the vacant time period, and then stores image data (DP2) in internal memory (75). CPU (53) thereafter captures image data (DP2) from internal memory (75), as required.

The first and second identifiers are respectively followed by a caller's telephone number and a sequence of caller's message codes. If the decoder determines that the paging signal contains the first identifier, the caller's telephone number is displayed and if it determines that the paging signal contains the second identifier, the subsequent message codes are used as address pointers to read alphanumeric data from a memory to reconstruct a caller's message, which is displayed.

The decoder includes a bank mode switching register 601 that is used to select a plurality of bank modes. The register stores an initial hardware value and a bank switch value that is used to select one of the plurality of bank modes upon initialization by software, and one of the plurality of bank modes is selected in accordance with the initial hardware value and the bank switch value by the software. When the capacity of the ROM is limited, the capacity of the ROM can be assured sufficiently only by selecting one of the bank modes, and software designing can proceed only after some change of design.
