    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention include wireless communication systems having one or more network components that can communicate with at least one mobile station in an interference environment. A transmitter can transmit data indicating a set of communication modes in which a mobile station is capable of operating and for at least one mode of communication in the set an indication of interference rejection capability. The indicating data can be received by a receiver. A resource allocator can allocate system resources based on the indicating data for use during a connection between network components (e.g., a network apparatus and a mobile station). Allocation of system resources can fully or partially depend on a connection's communication mode, an indication of interference rejection capability of a mobile station for the mode of communication of the connection, and/or an interference environment expected during the connection. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

In one embodiment, a receiving apparatus generally comprises a detector, an indicator, and a decision device. The detector can detect a number of data streams contained in a signal received on a single physical channel. Detection can be made by comparing a received signal with one or more predetermined sequences and identifying one or more of the plural predetermined sequences as being likely contained within the received signal. Each data stream can be associated with at least one predetermined sequences. The indicator can provide an indication of the data streams likely contained in the signal based on the identified sequences. A decision device can provide data defining a receiver configuration based on the indication, the receiver configuration being suitable for configuring a decoder to decode only the one or more data streams indicated as being likely contained in the signal.     摘要: Embodiments of the present invention include devices, systems and methods for prevention of dropped calls. For example, a method for preventing dropped voice calls can be performed by a base station. Multiple reports are received from multiple wireless communication devices. A first wireless communication device having a poor received signal is identified using the reports. A sub-channel power imbalance ratio is adjusted so that the base station gives favorable power imbalance to the first wireless communication device over a second wireless communication device. The second wireless communication device is paired with the first wireless communication device. Adjusting the sub-channel power imbalance ratio prevents a voice call by the first wireless communication device from being dropped that would otherwise be dropped. Other aspects, embodiments and features are also claimed and described.

    摘要: A novel symbol estimation method produces intersymbol interference free symbols by detecting interfering symbols in an interfering channel. A channel estimate is refined for additional improvements. The method can lends itself as a serial or parallel algorithm implementation. The symbol estimation method includes using an initial estimate of received symbols and calculating a refined estimate of the received symbols using a channel estimate. The refined estimate is calculated by performing parameterization of intersymbol interference by symbols other than the symbol being refined and selecting a refined value for the symbol being refined by evaluating an optimization function. Symbol estimates are refined in multiple iterations, until a predetermined iteration termination criterion is met. Parameterization of ISI contribution of other symbols results in reduced computation by reducing total number of unknown variables in the refinement operation.
