    Abstract: A coil component includes first and second wires wound around a winding core portion of a core, and third and fourth wires wound around outside a portion of the first and the second wires wound around the winding core portion in an opposite direction to a winding direction of the first and second wires. The portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion has a first twisted wire portion twisted together. A length of the first wire or a length of the second wire of the portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion is configured to be equal to a length of the third wire or a length of the fourth wire of the portion of the third and fourth wires wound around outside the portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion.

    Abstract: A coil component includes a wire; a core having a winding core around which the wire is wound and a flange portion provided at an end portion of the winding core in an axial direction; and a terminal electrode to which the wire is connected and that is provided on the flange portion. The terminal electrode has a projecting portion that sticks out in the axial direction relative to the flange portion. The projecting portion has a flat surface along which the wire is thermocompression-bonded. Thermocompression bonding of the wire is performed in a state where an interval between a head surface of a heater chip and the flat surface becomes narrower from a flange portion side toward a front end side of the projecting portion. A degree of crushing of the wire decreases from the front end side toward the flange portion side of the projecting portion.

    Abstract: A coil component including a wire has a central conductor and an insulating coating layer, and a terminal electrode has a connection part that is electrically connected to the central conductor. The connection part includes a receiving part that receives an end portion of the wire, and a welding part that extends from the receiving part via a fold-back part so as to face the receiving part. The wire becomes sandwiched between the receiving part and the welding part. The central conductor is welded to the welding part in the portion from which the insulating coating layer is removed. The distal end portion of the wire protrudes from the space between the receiving part and the welding part, with the insulating coating layer remaining on the distal end portion.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a coil component includes preparing a wire; preparing a terminal electrode formed from a metal plate having a flat surface to which an end portion of the wire is to be connected, a low surface that is lower in a thickness direction of the terminal electrode than the flat surface, and a shift surface that connects the flat surface to the low surface and that increases a height in the thickness direction from the low surface to the flat surface; placing the end portion of the wire on the flat surface such that the wire is provided sequentially along the flat surface, the shift surface, and the low surface in this order from the end portion thereof; and thermally pressure-bonding the end portion of the wire to the flat surface such that the heated chip is pressed so that an edge thereof overlaps the low surface.
