    Abstract: A coil component has a core having a winding core portion and a flange portion disposed on each of both ends of the winding core portion, the flange portion including a foot portion; a wire wound around the winding core portion; an electrode portion disposed on a bottom surface of the foot portion of the flange portion and connected to the wire; a metal terminal to be connected via a mounting solder to a mounting substrate; and a joining member connecting the metal terminal to the electrode portion. The joining member has a heat resistance property retaining a connection state between the electrode portion and the metal terminal at least at the melting point of the mounting solder.

    Abstract: An electronic component includes a core, a winding, and an electrode. A flange of the core includes a body having a first surface that faces a top side and is located on the top side of a winding core of the core and first and second electrode formation portions protruding toward the top side of the first surface. The electrode is provided on a second surface of the first electrode formation portion and is connected to the winding. Space surrounded by the first and second electrode formation portions and the first surface is formed. A predetermined section between a point where the winding is separated from the winding core and a point where the winding comes into contact with the electrode extends toward the upper right side as viewed from the front, and does not include a portion of the winding an entire line width of which overlaps the space.

    Abstract: A coil component includes a drum core including a winding core portion extending in a first direction and a pair of flange portions provided at both ends of the winding core portion. At least one flange of the pair of flange portions has at least one step or gradient portion. A terminal electrode is provided on the step or gradient portion, and a wire is wound around the winding core portion with an end bonded to the terminal electrode. The terminal electrode includes plural metal layers, an outermost layer of which is an Sn film having a flattened mounting surface. The flattened mounting surface overlaps the step or gradient portion when seen in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

    Abstract: A common mode choke coil has a core including a winding base, and a first and a second wire wound around the winding base side by side. The winding base includes a first area and a second area. The first area is from a first end of a region where the first wire is in contact with the winding base to a first point in the region. The second area is from a second end, which is opposite to the first end, of the region to a second point in the region. The second area does not overlap with the first area. When the first and second wires on a same turn are compared with each other, in the first area, the first wire is located nearer the first end, and in the second area, the first wire is located nearer the second end.

    Abstract: A coil component includes a drum-shaped core including a core portion that extends in a length direction of the coil component and a first flange portion provided on a first end portion of the core portion, and first and second terminal electrodes provided on the first flange portion. The first and second terminal electrodes each include a base electrode formed on a surface of the first flange portion and a plating layer that covers the base electrode. The base electrode includes a bottom-surface base electrode portion on a bottom surface, an end-surface base electrode portion on an end surface, and a side-surface base electrode portion on a first side surface. The end-surface base electrode portion has a height greater than that of the first crotch portion. The side-surface base electrode portion has a height less than that of the first crotch portion.
