    Abstract: A radar device includes: a single-system transmission system that transmits a frequency-modulated transmission signal; a single-system reception system that receives, as a reception signal, a reflected wave generated by the transmission signal being reflected by an object and that generates a beat signal; and a signal processing unit that detects a position of the object on the basis of the beat signal. The transmission system includes a transmission antenna that is attached to a moving body and radiates the transmission signal in a direction perpendicular to a movement direction of the moving body. The signal processing unit detects an azimuth angle of the object on the basis of a relative velocity of the object and a movement velocity of the moving body.

    Abstract: A positioning system includes a transceiver and a signal processing unit. The signal processing unit acquires a plurality of antenna data from the transceiver, the antenna data being obtained by radio waves being transmitted and received between transmitting antennas and receiving antennas. In angle estimation processing of the target by employing an Annihilating Filter method, the signal processing unit generates a convolution matrix by stacking the plurality of antenna data in a row direction of a matrix and combining the antenna data, and determines a filter coefficient vector from simultaneous equations expressed by using a matrix product of the convolution matrix and the filter coefficient vector. The signal processing unit calculates a phase difference between antennas from the determined filter coefficient vector and performs an operation to estimate an arrival angle of the reflected wave from the target.

    Abstract: Transmission signal generation circuitry generates a transmission chirp, and the transmission chirp is transmitted from a transmission antenna. A reflected wave, from an object to be detected, of the transmission chirp transmitted from the transmission antenna is received by a reception antenna. A mixer mixes the transmission chirp and a reception chirp received by the reception antenna to generate an intermediate frequency signal. Signal processing circuitry obtains, for a plurality of respective analysis periods corresponding to different frequency bands of the transmission chirp, frequency spectral waveforms of the intermediate frequency signal, detects a peak appearing in the plurality of frequency spectral waveforms, and determines, based on variations in peak position among the plurality of frequency spectral waveforms, whether or not the peak is due to a valid object.

    Abstract: A radar device includes a radar unit, a signal processing unit, a GPS receiver, and a storage unit. The signal processing unit acquires, for each target, a distance (R) to the target and a relative velocity (Veff) between the radar unit and the target when the radar unit is moving. The signal processing unit separately detects positions of a plurality of targets by using a separation algorithm in which a difference between the relative velocities (Veff) is used. When the radar unit is stopped, the signal processing unit corrects the position of each target detected when the radar unit has been moving, based on a current position of the radar unit stored in the storage unit, and identifies the positions of the plurality of targets.

    Abstract: A radar device includes an oscillator that generates a transmission signal including a plurality of chirp signals, the chirp signal having a frequency that increases or decreases from an initial frequency in each predetermined sweep cycle. The oscillator changes the initial frequency of each chirp signal. A transmitter emits the transmission signal, and a receiver receives a reflected wave of the transmission signal reflected at an object and an unwanted wave as a reception signal. Circuitry is configured to estimate a phase of the reception signal from the transmission signal and the reception signal, calculate a correlation between a change pattern of the initial frequency of each chirp signal and a change pattern of the phase of the reception signal, estimate the reflected wave from the reception signal based on the correlation, and calculate a number of incoming waves based on a result of the estimation of the reflected wave.
