Abstract:
An input device, method, and system enabling a switch input operation of various equipment by moving a body part other than hands and feet. Input by body movement, such as a wink, is achieved by an input device including: a detector which includes a first contact electrode placed at a first position of a body part and a second contact electrode placed at a second position of the body part, the detector configured to measure a biological signal between the first contact electrode and the second contact electrode, and to detect a low-frequency component inclusive of the biological signal; and a discrimination processor configured to determine, based on a signal from the detector, presence or absence of an input movement of the body part in a vicinity of the first position, and/or presence or absence of an input movement of the body part in a vicinity of the second position.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, a device, a system, and a program for evaluating similarity of brain activity with respect to an object to be evaluated, using data obtained by a simple measurement of brain waves. Brain wave data related to cognitive processing with respect to a plurality of sensory stimuli are dimensionally compressed, and a distribution of the object to be evaluated is displayed on a two-dimensional plane or three-dimensionally. In this way, similarity of brain information with respect to the plurality of sensory stimuli is evaluated, and the similarity is visualized. The brain wave data related to the cognitive processing include brain wave data upon selection of a stimulus as a target, and brain wave data caused by a non-target stimulus event.
Abstract:
Provided are a highly confidential personal authentication device which uses brain waves, a personal authentication method, and a personal authentication system and program. The authentication device using brain waves is provided with: an electroencephalograph; and a processing unit which, with respect to brain waves with respect to a plurality of stimulus events obtained by the electroencephalograph, determines a discrimination score according to a discrimination model for estimating brain information for each authentication candidate accumulated in advance, based on a discrimination-model-to-discrimination-model comparison of the discrimination score, identifies and authenticates an authentication candidate who provided the model. The identifying of the authentication candidate based on the discrimination score in the processing unit is based on the discrimination score and/or decoding accuracy determined from the discrimination score.
Abstract:
Provided are a cognitive function evaluation apparatus, a cognitive function evaluation method and system, and a program that can be implemented for non-handicapped persons and persons with severe motor impairment. The apparatus according to the present invention is an apparatus for evaluating cognitive function provided with a processing unit that analyzes and processes a brain wave caused by a plurality of stimulus events including a target and a non-target; estimates a stimulus event selected as the target from the plurality of stimulus events; determines a discrimination score or decoding accuracy; and evaluates cognitive function on the basis of a value of one or more of the discrimination score, the decoding accuracy, any of time courses, and decoding speed. With respect to two or more stimulus event groups having different levels of difficulty distinguishing between stimulus events, a discrimination score or decoding accuracy may be determined for each of the different difficulty levels, and cognitive function may be evaluated on the basis of a connection between one or more of the discrimination score, the decoding accuracy, any of time courses, and decoding speed and the difficulty levels.
