Abstract: An imaging system (10) includes: iris imaging means (1) for photographing an iris of a subject; first irradiation means (2a) for applying light to the subject; and second irradiation means (2b) for applying light to the subject in such a manner that an angle between an optical axis of the light emitted from the second irradiation means (2b) and an optical axis of the iris imaging means (1) is larger than an angle between an optical axis of the light emitted from the first irradiation means (2a) and the optical axis of the iris imaging means (1).

Abstract: An illumination device emits light toward a moving subject. A controller controls light emitted from the illumination device so that the amount of light applied to the subject is adjusted to a specific amount or smaller. For example, when the illumination device emits light in a pulsed manner, the controller may control the amount of light applied to the subject by controlling at least one of the pulse width and the pulse intensity of the light. The controller may, for example, control the light emitted from the illumination device according to the distance between the illumination device and the subject.

Abstract: In order to detect the foreground without being affected by reflected light from the shadow of an object or the background and so on, in both indoor and outdoor environments, the image processing method includes a step of generating first foreground likelihood from a visible light image, a step of generating second foreground likelihood from a depth image in which the same object is captured as that in the visible light image, a step of generating reliability of the depth image using at least the visible light image and the depth image, and a step of determining foreground likelihood of the object based on the first foreground likelihood and the second foreground likelihood, using the reliability of the depth image as a weight.

Abstract: A calculation device includes: an image input unit that receives, as an input, an image acquired by an image acquisition device that photographs a prescribed area; a visibility evaluation unit that calculates an evaluation value showing the visibility of a detection object in the image, on the basis of the contrast of the image and noise information showing the degree of noise included in the image; a calculation unit that calculates a maximum visually recognizable distance, which is the maximum distance from the image acquisition device to the detection object at which the detection object is visually recognized in the image, based on the evaluation value, a value set as the actual size of the detection object in the image, and the image angle of the image acquisition device; and an output unit that generates and outputs output information based on the maximum visually recognizable distance.
