    Abstract: A tray including a plate-shaped portion for arranging a plurality of prismatic honeycomb structures having an outer peripheral side surface and partition walls provided on an inner peripheral side of the outer peripheral side surface, the partition walls partitioning a plurality of cells forming flow paths from a first end surface to a second end surface, the plate-shaped portion including: a plurality of corrugated plate-shaped placing portions for placing the prismatic honeycomb structures with the outer peripheral side surface in contact with the placing portions; flat plate-shaped non-placing portions adjacent to each of the corrugated plate-shaped placing portions; and partition walls erected between adjacent corrugated plate-shaped placing portions to prevent the outer peripheral side surfaces of adjacent prismatic honeycomb structures from contacting each other.

    Abstract: A honeycomb filter including: a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure having an inflow end face and an outflow end face and including a porous partition wall disposed so as to surround a plurality of cells, the plurality of cells extending from the inflow end face to the outflow end face; inflow side plugging portions disposed at open ends of predetermined cells on the inflow end face side; and outflow side plugging portions disposed at open ends of residual cells on the outflow end face side, wherein the outflow side plugging portions comprise first outflow side plugging portions and second outflow side plugging portions, the plugging length L1 of the first outflow side plugging portions is 10 to 50% of the overall length L0 of the honeycomb structure, and the plugging length L2 of the second outflow side plugging portions is less than 10% of the overall length L0 of the honeycomb structure.

    Abstract: A method for producing a honeycomb structure for fine particle collection filters. The honeycomb structure includes a plurality of porous honeycomb segments joined together via joining material layers. The method includes the steps of: forming the outer peripheral wall of each of the porous honeycomb segments so as to have a thickness thicker by a grinding margin; drying the porous honeycomb segments each formed by grinding the outer peripheral wall so as to have the thickness thicker by the grinding margin; firing the dried porous honeycomb segments; grinding and removing the grinding margin of the outer peripheral wall of each of the fired porous honeycomb segments; and applying a joining material to each of the porous honeycomb segments with the grinding margin ground and removed, between joining surfaces of each of the porous honeycomb segments, to join the porous honeycomb segments via the joining material layers.

    Abstract: The manufacturing method of the plugged honeycomb structure includes a honeycomb structure forming step of forming a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure, and a plugging step of forming plugging portions in end portions of the cells of the honeycomb structure formed in the honeycomb structure forming step, and in the plugging step, there is performed a press pouring operation of pressing one end face of the honeycomb structure into a plugging slurry stored in a bottomed tubular container to pour, under pressure, the plugging slurry into the cells of the honeycomb structure, and as the plugging slurry of the plugging step, there is used a slurry in which a yield point viscosity of a viscous fluidity is 600 Pa·s or more, a recovery viscosity is 300 Pa·s or more, and a high shearing viscosity is 200 Pa·s or less.

    Abstract: Provided is a honeycomb structure 1 including a honeycomb structure body, first plugging portions, and second plugging portions. The honeycomb structure body has a porous partition wall. The first plugging portions are disposed at an outflow side end face of inlet cells and an inflow side end face of outlet cells. The inlet cells are the predetermined cells of the honeycomb structure body. The outlet cells are the residual cells of the honeycomb structure body. The second plugging portions are not fired. The first plugging portions form a checkered pattern at the inflow side end face and the outflow side end face. The number of the second plugging portions is within 3% of the number of cell open ends where the first plugging portions are not formed, on both end faces of the honeycomb structure body.
