Abstract: A vehicle roof structure includes a roof bow, a vibration dampening plate and a weighted member attached to the vibration dampening plate. The roof bow has a forward flange section, a rearward flange section and a central section, the central section defining a recessed area. The vibration dampening plate is installed to an upper surface of the roof bow proximate the central section. A weighted member is fixedly attached to a lower surface of the vibration dampening plate such that the weighted member is at a level above the upper surface of the recessed area of the roof bow and has a non-contacting relationship with the roof bow.

Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes a front side member, a body attachment structure and an off-center impact structure. The body attachment structure is attached to an outboard wall of the front side member along a front-section forward of an outboard opening and extends in an outboard direction from the front side member. The off-center impact structure has an elongated member with a straight portion that extends through the outboard opening and into a hollow interior of the front side member. The elongated member is fixedly coupled to the outboard wall of the front side member adjacent to, spaced apart from and rearward of the body attachment structure. In response to an impact event of an off-center impact test the body attachment structure deforms and moves into contact with the elongated member transferring impact force to the elongated member.

Abstract: A body vehicle structure has a front side member, a power plant and an elongated member. The front side member has an outboard opening and an inboard opening open to a hollow interior. The outboard opening and the inboard opening are offset from one another relative to a front end of the front side member. The power plant is supported to the vehicle structure inboard of the front side member adjacent to the inboard opening. The elongated member extends through the outboard opening, the hollow interior, and the inboard opening of the front side member. In response to an impact event of an off-center impact test a front end of the elongated member adjacent and outboard relative to a front end of the front side member is impacted moving a rear end of the elongated member into contact with the vehicle power plant transmitting impacting force thereto.

Abstract: A collar assembly has a sleeve, a first collar, a second collar and a third collar. The sleeve is configured to loosely extend into a first opening in a beam, a hollow interior of the beam and a second opening of the beam. The first collar attaches to one end of the sleeve and includes a first attachment flange that overlays a portion of an exterior surface of the beam and a first alignment flange that extends into a first opening of the beam. The second collar has a second attachment flange that overlays a portion of another exterior surface of the beam with the sleeve extending through an aperture with the sleeve member. The first and second collars are re-position-able along exterior surfaces of the beam such that the sleeve member is moved to a predetermined orientation relative to the beam prior to attachment to the beam.

Abstract: A vehicle roof structure includes a roof bow and a stiffening member. The roof bow has a main section with a forward flange section, a rearward flange section and a middle section that extend in a lengthwise direction of the roof bow. The stiffening member has a panel portion with a plurality of forward projections extending from a forward edge of the panel portion and a plurality of rearward projections extending from a rearward edge of the panel portion. The plurality of forward projections are fixedly attached to the forward flange section of the roof bow and the plurality of rearward projections are fixedly attached to the rearward flange section of the roof bow. The panel portion of the stiffening member is located between the forward flange section and the rearward flange section of the roof bow.

Abstract: A vehicle door assembly includes an inner door panel, an outer door panel and an energy absorbing member. The outer door panel being configured such that at least a portion of an outer periphery thereof is fixed to an outer periphery of the inner door panel, the inner door panel and the outer door panel defining a hollow interior therebetween. The hollow interior has an upper end and a lower end. The energy absorbing member is installed within the hollow interior between the inner door panel and the outer door panel.
