Abstract: A method for predicting channel state information is described. The method includes determining whether or not geodesic prediction is to be performed and transmitting the determination of whether or not geodesic prediction is to be performed in a first part of uplink control signaling. In response to determining that geodesic prediction is not to be performed, the method includes transmitting a current channel estimate in a second part of uplink control signaling, and in response to determining that geodesic prediction is to be performed, the method includes transmitting either a determined current value of a tangent vector, or a determined step size parameter, or both the determined current value of the tangent vector and the determined step size parameter in the second part of uplink control signaling. Channel state information is predicted based on information provided in the first and second parts of uplink control signaling.

Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method comprising: selecting, by a user equipment, a subset of linear combination coefficients from a linearized two-dimensional matrix having columns of frequency domain components and rows of spatial beams components for channel state information determination, wherein the number of linear combination coefficients in the subset is less than all of the linear combination coefficients; determining indication comprising information associated with column indices of the selected subset of linear combination coefficients from the linearized two-dimensional matrix, wherein the indication excludes the index of the column with lowest index of the linearized two-dimensional matrix; determining compressed channel state information comprising locations in the linearized two-dimensional matrix of the subset of linear combination coefficients and corresponding values of the linear combination coefficients at those locations; and reporting, from the user equipment toward the base station, the compressed channel state information.

Abstract: A UE measures RSs from at least two different groups of RSs transmitted from at least two different TRPs from corresponding different base stations. The UE sends report(s) corresponding to the calculated CSI, the report(s) comprising information for at least the two TRPs of a number of reported hypotheses for a single-TRP measurement and a corresponding association to a number of configured hypotheses for a single-TRP measurement. Abstract: Techniques of performing CSI reporting include identifying a cluster of TRPs sharing common information in their CSI and transmitting a complete CSI report to a selected TRP of the cluster while transmitting partial CSIs reports to other TRPs of the cluster. Along these lines, in an example implementation, a UE receives a CSI-RS from a network, with the CSI-RS carrying a plurality of reference symbols from a plurality of TRPs. Based on the plurality of symbols, the UE generates TRP data representing CSI feedback for each of the TRPs. From the CSI feedback, the UE identifies, as a cluster, a subset of the TRPs that share common information within the CSI feedback. The UE then sends first identification data identifying the subset of the TRPs that make up the cluster to the network.

Abstract: Dynamic and partial sharing of the channel measurement downlink reference signal resources are provided. An apparatus performs determining information relating to an actual number of ports configured for a user equipment for channel measurements and determining a pool of channel state information reference signal resources for the user equipment. The pool of channel state information reference signal resources is provided in a radio resource control configuration and includes an excess number of ports compared to the actual number of ports. The apparatus also transmits to the user equipment via at least one of a medium access control control element or downlink control information, configured user equipment specific mapping for the pool of channel state information reference signal resources.

Abstract: Techniques of generating CSI reports include designating at least one of the reports as a reference and the other reports as dependent on the reference. For example, a dependent CSI report may have a differential value of a CSI quantity rather than a raw value of the CSI quantity. Because generally for parameters in a CSI report, the differential quantity has a smaller range of values than the raw values of the CSI quantity, a quantization of the differential value of the CSI quantity will have fewer bits than the raw value; for example, for L1-RSRP, the raw value has 7 bits while the differential value has 4 bits. In another example, a dependent value of a CSI quantity is a flag indicating that the CSI quantity value is located in a reference CSI report.
