摘要: Metadata may be stored in, and retrieved from, a scalable, fault-tolerant metadata service. In one example, metadata is divided into partitions, and each partition is served by one or more nodes. For each partition, a first one of the nodes may handle read and write requests, and the other nodes may handle read requests in the event that the first node is down or is experiencing high load. When a request is made with respect to metadata, a metadata server may identify a node, in the partition to which the metadata is assigned, to which the request is to be made. The entity that is making the request then contacts that node, and requests the read or write on the metadata. In a partition, metadata may be replicated between the first node and the other nodes using a log-based replication protocol.

摘要: A system and method for using an encoding module in a virtual world server for: receiving scene data including a description of at least one virtual object and underlying terrain associated with the scene; organizing the description of the at least one virtual object into a first track segmented by virtual object time slots, organizing the description of the underlying terrain into a second track segmented by terrain time slots; and storing the descriptions in persistent storage as separate files where users can retrieve and render the separate files.

摘要: A method, Web server and computer system are provided for converging a desktop application and a Web application. The method includes in response to a request from a client user for using a target desktop application, starting a desktop application initialization process on the Web server and determining an appropriate corresponding hosting server for the user; preparing and provisioning desktop application environment on the corresponding hosting server and starting the target desktop application; transmitting the corresponding hosting server's address to the client so as to make desktop application interaction between the client and the corresponding hosting server; and in response to the completion of the desktop application interaction, stopping and exiting the target desktop application on the corresponding hosting server. The client user is provided with a unified Web console for accessing desktop applications and Web applications, and Web files are shared between the desktop applications and the Web applications.

摘要: A method and system for correlating out interactions, which occur due to one or a set of specific events, of an application, which is deployed in multiple adjacent tiers in an actual environment is described. First, a simulation environment corresponding to the actual environment is created. Then, specific events are led to the actual environment and the simulation environment. A pattern(s) of interactions, which are related with the specific events, between adjacent tiers in the simulation environment and a large number of interactions between adjacent tiers in the actual environment are obtained. Afterwards, interactions, which are related with the specific events, between adjacent tiers among the obtained interactions between adjacent tiers in the actual environment are correlated using a template of the obtained pattern(s) of interactions, which are related with the specific events, between adjacent tiers in the simulation environment as a template.

摘要: A system, method, and program storage device for sharing and exchanging virtual objects from different virtual worlds are disclosed. Virtual objects are centrally managed by an inventory service. The inventory service performs data transmission related to virtual objects and data translation related to virtual objects. The inventory service has a repository for storing virtual objects and applies cache policy(s) to local cache memories in virtual worlds to maintain data consistency across the virtual worlds. Based on a publish/subscribe mechanism, each virtual world publishes and subscribes topic notifications related shared virtual objects. The system, method and program storage device are also used for a separate state management of a shared/exchanged virtual object within identical virtual world(s).

摘要: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for improving the loading time of a web page. The present invention includes selecting archivable objects in a web page for inclusion in an archive file, the web page referencing at least one archivable object and generating the archive file from the selected archivable objects. A web page is generated, the web page configured to display in a script enabled web browser, wherein the web page comprises executable code configured to retrieve the archive file, executable code configured to unpackage the archivable objects from the archive file, and executable code configured to render the web page in a web browser using the unpackaged archivable objects from the archive file. Beneficially, the apparatus, system, and method improve the load time for web pages.
