Abstract: A label is described for attachment to an animal. The label includes a transmitting and receiving device having an electric oscillator circuit that, upon closure of the oscillator circuit, generates a periodic electric oscillator signal with an oscillation period for transmitting an electromagnetic beacon signal with the transmitting and receiving device. The label is configured for closing the electric oscillator circuit during a predetermined transmission duration, and is further configured for opening the electric oscillator circuit upon elapse of the predetermined transmission duration, wherein the predetermined transmission duration corresponds to at least one and at least a whole number of oscillation periods of the electric oscillator signal.

Abstract: A system for determining positions of labels. Each label includes a processor and a transmitting and receiving device, and each label is configured for transmitting an electromagnetic first type beacon signal. The labels are also configured for receiving first type beacon signals from other labels, and for determining first type positioning data. The labels are also configured to transmit information about the positioning data. The system includes a receiver for receiving transmitted information about the positioning data, and a computer configured to calculate, on the basis of the received information, the relative positions of the labels relative to each other. The information about the relative positions of the labels can be exported by means of an electrical information signal.

Abstract: Method for automated animal management, comprising: using an animal management system including a plurality of wireless communication devices, each of the wireless communication devices having a respective identifier associated therewith in the system; assigning a first one of the wireless communication devices to an animal management effector and registering, in the animal management system, an indication of the assigning; causing a second one of the wireless communication devices to be carried by an individual animal; using the respective identifier of at least one of the first and second wireless communication devices, causing a wireless communication between at least said first and second wireless communication devices; and automatically determining, by the animal management system, using the registered indication of the assigning, at least one parameter of an animal management relationship between the animal and the animal management effector in dependence of the wireless communication.

Abstract: The invention relates to a detection label provided with a passive resonant circuit which is configured to emit an identification code when the passive resonant circuit is introduced into a first electromagnetic interrogation field, wherein the label is further provided with a memory and an active circuit comprising a transmitter and a receiver, wherein the active circuit is configured to emit information which is stored in the memory with the transmitter when the active circuit is introduced into a second electromagnetic interrogation field comprising a first predetermined code, which second electromagnetic interrogation field is received with the receiver, characterized in that the label is configured, in response to the receiving of the second interrogation field, when the second interrogation field comprises a second predetermined code, to adjust a status of the label such that the passive resonant circuit does not emit the identification code when the passive resonant circuit is introduced into the first electromagnetic interrogation field.
