Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for attenuating interferences in a positioning receiver, wherein a signal transmitted by the satellites of a positioning system is received, and the received signal is amplified. In the positioning receiver a noise level of the received signal is determined, the existence of interferences is established on the basis of changes of the determined noise level, and the amplification is controlled on the basis of the noise level of the signal received otherwise than during interference. The invention also relates to an electronic device, wherein the method is applied, as well as to a program, with which the method can be implemented in connection with the positioning receiver.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for determining the position of an electronic device (1) by means of satellites in a positioning system. In the method, satellite orbit data and a default position for the electronic device (1) are determined. In the method, at least the following steps are taken: a determination step for determining a first time data estimate by using said default position, a computing step for computing an estimate of the code phase of the satellite signal on the basis of said time data estimate, the default position and the satellite orbit data, and a searching step, in which a code-modulated signal transmitted by satellites of a positioning system is received for searching the signal of at least one satellite and for acquiring the signal by using said estimate of the code phase. The invention also relates to a system, in which the method is applied, as well as to an electronic device (1).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for synchronizing a receiver (1) with a transmitted code-modulated spread spectrum signal. In the method, at least one reference code (r(x)) is used, which corresponds to a code used in the modulation, and the frequency shift of the transmitted signal and the code phase of the code used in the modulation are determined. In the method, a correlation step is taken to form a correlation function matrix on the basis of the received signal and said reference code. A non-coherent search matrix is formed of said correlation function matrix. In the method, elements in said non-coherent search matrix are modified on the basis of at least one statistical property of the elements in said non-coherent search matrix, and/or high-pass filtering is performed before the formation of said correlation function matrix. The invention also relates to a system and a receiver in which the method is applied.
Abstract:
A method for validating detected code modulated signals transmitted by beacons of a positioning system and received by a receiver comprises as a first step performing measurements for the detected beacon signals. Then, at least one of the detected beacon signals is selected as a calibration signal. In a next step, at least one allowed range for results of measurements for detected beacon signals other than said calibration signal are determined based on measurements for the detected calibration signal and on an available reference position of the receiver. Finally, each detection of a beacon signal for which results of performed measurements are outside of an allowed range is rejected. The invention relates equally to a corresponding receiver, to an electronic device comprising such a receiver, to a device cooperating with such a receiver and to a corresponding positioning system.

Said correlation is made in at least a first and a second part, and different correlation times are used in said first part and in said second part. The invention also relates to an electronic device (ED) comprising a positioning receiver (PR). The positioning receiver (PR) comprises means (1-6) for receiving at least one spread spectrum modulated signal, means (13, 14, 15) for forming a reference code corresponding to the code used in the modulation of the signal to be received, and means (8) for performing a correlation between the received signal and the reference signal for reacquisition of the signal to be received. Said means (8) for making the correlation comprise at least first correlating means (20a, 20b; 22a, 22b; 24a, 24b; 26a, 26b) and second correlating means (21a, 21b; 23a, 23b; 25a, 25b; 27a, 27b) for making the correlation in at least first and second parts, and means (20a, 21a; 20b, 21b) for using different correlation times in said at least first and second parts.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for coding successive pitch periods of a speech signal. Based on a priori knowledge of statistical properties of successive speech periods, a shaped lattice structure is designed to cover the most probable points in the pitch space. The codebook index search starts with finding an open-loop estimate in the pitch space considering all dimensions and refining the open-loop estimate in a closed-loop search separately in each dimension based on the shaped lattice structure. The closed-loop search for the first subframe is for obtaining an absolute pitch period or a delta pitch while the closed-loop search for each of the other subframes is for obtaining a delta pitch for the respective subframe.
