One method may include transmitting a message via a control plane, to an application server, indicating whether to establish a security association on a user plane in an interface between the GCS AS and the BM-SC. The method may also include providing, to the GCS AS, a target internet protocol (IP) address and possible port as a target for the security association.

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for discovering a network function (NF) acting as a network function service consumer are provided. One method may include, when a NF service consumer subscribes to notifications from a NF service producer, receiving, by the NF service producer, subscription information including a name of a consumer service of the NF service consumer that subscribes to notifications of the NF service producer. The receiving of the subscription information with the name of the consumer service allows the NF service producer to discover a corresponding NF service from an alternative NF instance within a NF set.

Various communication systems may benefit from the transfer of sender or receiver communication parameters. For example, such transfer of sender communication parameters may be useful in connection with single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) and reverse SRVCC. A method can include receiving, at an intermediate entity from a first entity, signaling including at least one parameter describing a user plane payload format that the first entity wants to receive and an encoding that the first entity wants to receive. The method can also include forwarding, by the intermediate entity, the at least one parameter in signaling to a second entity.

An apparatus and a method are provided by which a packet is received, a service identification in the packet is detected, it is decided based on the detected service identification whether a tunnel protocol extension header is to be generated or not, and, when the tunnel protocol extension header is to be generated, the tunnel protocol extension header is generated, the received packet is encapsulated with the generated tunnel protocol extension header and the encapsulated packet is forwarded.
