    摘要: To discriminate a disk in a short time, a calculating part 16 measures an amplitude of one of a focus error signal and a tracking error signal, which are output from a differential signal generating part 15, several times, and outputs the measured amplitudes to a controller 20. The controller 20 compares the input amplitudes with threshold values stored in a memory 21, respectively, and determines whether or not an amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal is changed. If it is determined that the amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal is changed, the controller 20 changes the amplification gain of one of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal to an amplification gain represented by one of the threshold values and discriminates the kind of an optical disk based on the changed amplification gain.

    摘要: Signals (A, B, C, and D) obtained by reading information recorded on an optical disk are summed and amplified by an summing amplifier (N1) to generate an RF signal. The RF signal is detected by a detection circuit (N5) to obtain an off-track sate detection signal. If the off-track state detection signal repeatedly alternates between an off-track state and an on-track state, a duty detection unit (N8) measures the duty of the off-track state detection signal. From the result, a sensitivity determining unit (N9) determines the detection sensitivity of the off-track state detection signal in the detection circuit (N5) and a detection sensitivity adjusting circuit (N6) adjusts the detection sensitivity of the off-track state detection signal in the detection circuit (N5).

    摘要: An optical disc apparatus for performing tracking control based on TE and OFT signals even with such low-quality optical discs that do not meet the standards on track-to-track distance. A signal generating unit generates a TE signal and also generates an OFT signal from an input RF signal based on a first threshold value. A duty ratio calculating unit calculates a duty ratio, a ratio of the H signals to the OFT signal in length, by measuring the time of the H signals in the OFT signal. A threshold value changing unit changes the threshold value from the first value to the second value if the duty ratio does not fall within a predetermined range. A tracking control unit controls the driving unit in accordance with the TE signal and the OFT signal when the duty ratio falls within the predetermined range.
