摘要: An increased amount of absorption of a load from the diagonally upper front side is achieved even in, for example, a vehicle having a high vehicle height. A first shock absorbing member is provided inside a bumper face upper to absorb a load from the diagonally upper front side, a second shock absorbing member is mounted on a front face portion of a bumper beam, and a third shock absorbing member is disposed below the first shock absorbing member and between a bumper face and the bumper beam to absorb a load from the diagonally upper front side. The rigidity of the first and third shock absorbing members in the up-down direction is higher than rigidity of the second shock absorbing member in the front-rear direction.

摘要: An automotive vehicle includes a vehicle body and a fascia coupled to the vehicle body. The vehicle also includes a rigid backer plate coupled to the body. The backer plate is disposed between the body and the fascia, and is spaced from the fascia. The vehicle further includes a compressible layer disposed between the fascia and the backer plate. The compressible layer has a first face proximate the fascia and a second face proximate the backer plate. The second face is provided with a recess to define a cavity between the compressible layer and the bumper plate. A pressure sensor is disposed in the cavity. The rigid backer plate has a backer plate face proximate the compressible layer and a rib member projecting from the backer plate face. The rib member is disposed at least partially in the cavity.

摘要: A bumper structure, that can mitigate impact when a collision body collides with a vehicle transverse direction end portion of an impact absorbing member, is obtained. A bumper structure has a bumper reinforcement that extends along a vehicle transverse direction at a vehicle front-rear direction end portion; an impact absorbing member that is provided at a vehicle front-rear direction outer side of this bumper reinforcement, and at which an outer side surface of a vehicle transverse direction end portion is made to be an inclined surface that is inclined toward a vehicle transverse direction outer side, from a vehicle front-rear direction outer side toward a vehicle front-rear direction inner side; and a plate-shaped member that is provided along the inclined surface, and whose rigidity is higher than the impact absorbing member.

摘要: An automotive bumper assembly and compression member for use therein. The assembly including a compression member has a first compressible region that contacts an outwardly oriented facing surface of a bodyside outer element and a second compressible region composed of a foamed polymeric material that rests in contact with an inwardly oriented surface of an outer bumper cover member. The first and second compressible regions each exhibit compressibility values with the compressibility value of the second compressible region being greater than the compressibility value of the first compressible region.

摘要: The invention discussed above provides a reinforcing element for a lower impact region of a front bumper of a motor vehicle for the protection of pedestrians during the impact of a lower leg section against the lower impact region of the front bumper. The reinforcing element is thus connected behind, in direction of travel, the lower front bumper region to the latter. The reinforcing element has a base plate with reinforcing ribs attached thereto. It extends essentially in horizontal direction, approximately over the width of the front bumper. It is thus proposed for the first time that the reinforcing element is designed as a separate plate which can be integrated in the lower bumper region. The above invention also discusses a front bumper equipped therewith for a motor vehicle.

摘要: A front shock absorbing structure of a vehicle includes a bumper reinforcement member that is disposed in a vehicle width direction in a front portion of a vehicle body and is formed as a rigid elongated member, and a shock absorbing member that is positioned on a front surface of the bumper reinforcement member. The shock absorbing member is vertically divided into a first shock absorbing portion and a second shock absorbing portion. The first and second shock absorbing portions are integrally coupled to each other at a forward side, so as to define a space therebetween at a rearward side. The coupling can be broken when an impact is applied by an impactor from ahead. The second shock absorbing portion has a protruding portion that is projected toward the space.
