An operating terminal operates an external device for projecting and retracting a part of the external device, and includes: a display unit that displays an image; a touch panel on the display unit, and configured to detect a touched area of an object and to receive a position signal in response to the touched area; a determining unit that determines a change of the touched area on the touch panel, based on the position signal; a detecting unit that detects a boundary of areas having different features in the touched area in the image; and a signal generating unit that generates a drive signal indicating a drive amount for causing the part of the external device to be projected and retracted, based on a determination result by the determining unit and a detection result by the detecting unit, and outputs the drive signal to the external device.

An imaging device, comprising a movement range restriction section, that, at the time of shooting standby, when rotating the image sensor based on detection result from an angular speed detection sensor or calculation result from a horizontal angle calculation section, restricts a region in which the image sensor is capable of moving to a first region that includes a central region of the optical axis of a photographing optical system, so as to maximize an angular range in which the image sensor can rotate, wherein, based on an instruction of a shooting instruction interface, the movement range restriction section sets a range in which the image sensor is capable of moving to a second region that includes the first region, and that is wider than at the time of shooting standby.

An image capturing apparatus includes an optical system, an image capturing unit, a posture detection unit, and a control unit. The optical system forms an image of a light beam from an object. The image capturing unit obtains image data corresponding to the light beam by the optical system. The posture detection unit detects a posture of the image capturing apparatus. The control unit determines based on the posture whether the image capturing apparatus is in a mode to perform shooting in a state in which an optical axis of the optical system faces a zenith or in a mode to perform shooting in a state in which the optical axis of the optical system faces a photographer side. The control unit changes control in a shooting operation using the image capturing unit in accordance with a result of the determination.

An image effect processing support apparatus includes: an image effect processing section that performs a specific image effect processing on an image; a confirmation region determination section that determines an effect of the specific image effect processing for each part of the image, and based on a result of the determination, determines and sets a confirmation region for confirming the effect of the image effect processing; and a display control section that displays an effect indication that shows the effect of the image effect processing in the confirmation region on a display section, to thereby enable an effect of a filter effect processing to be easily confirmed.

An imaging apparatus include an imaging processing unit, a dial operation unit, a boundary setting unit, and a control unit. The imaging processing unit acquires image data having a predetermined image effect. The dial operation unit receives a dial operation to set at least one boundary line in the image data. The boundary setting unit sets the boundary line in the image data in response to the dial operation. The control unit controls the imaging processing unit so that image data having different image effects are obtained in the respective partial regions of the image data that are divided by the boundary line set by the boundary setting unit.
