    摘要: A panoramic optical element that integrates a mirrored sphere surface positioned at a specific length perpendicular to the focus point of the video camera. The sphere reflects the 360° environment into the lens of the video camera installed below the rear view mirror of a vehicle. The use of one video camera to capture 360° field of view is significant because it does not employ any moving parts to capture the 360° image. The recorded image output is in the form of a circular video image that can later be converted by using a software package that digitizes the pixel points into a rectilinear image. The embodiment can be used to capture a continuous loop recording of the operation of a motor vehicle by capturing the outside environment along with the vehicle's operator and incumbents or passengers or for other applications where a 360° panoramic view is required.

    摘要: A projection assembly for use with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) such as quadrotors. The projection assembly includes a projection screen with a rear surface and a front surface, and the projection screen has a level of opacity and/or other physical qualities that enables it to function as a rear-projection surface. The projection assembly includes a vehicle attachment member adapted for coupling with a frame of the UAV, and the projection screen is supported at a first end by the vehicle attachment member. The apparatus includes a projector projecting light, and the projected light is directed onto the rear surface of the projection surface to generate a displayed image visible on the front surface. The projection screen can be formed from a mesh sheet with a porosity allowing air to flow through the projection screen. The mesh sheet may be formed of plastic threads that provide the rear-projection surface function.

    摘要: The present invention provides methods of obtaining panoramic images that appear most natural to the naked eye by executing a mathematically precise image processing operation on a wide-angle image acquired using a wide-angle lens that is rotationally symmetric about an optical axis, and devices using the methods. Imaging systems using this method can be used not only in security surveillance applications for indoor and outdoor environments, but also in diverse areas such as video phones for apartment entrance doors, rear view cameras for vehicles, visual sensors for unmanned aerial vehicles and robots, and broadcasting cameras. Also, it can be used to obtain panoramic photographs using digital cameras.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for stitching together first and second sets of images from three or more image sensors. The first set of images are combined into a composite left view of the panorama, and the second set of images are combined into a composite right view of the panorama. When properly stitched together, the left and right views may be presented as a stereoscopic view of the panorama. A stitching algorithm is applied which removes any disparity due to the parallax in the combined left images and in the combined right images.

    摘要: A projection device (1) includes: a projector (2) adapted for projecting a mother image along a projection axis (11); and a convex mirror adapted for at least partially reflecting the mother image and projecting it onto a three-dimensional environment (7, 8a, 8b) such as the ground, a ceiling, one or more side walls and the content of a room. When combining the projector with a convex mirror, the mother image can for example be projected into a solid angle higher than 2π steradians (i.e. a half-sphere), or even substantially equal to or slightly lower than 4π steradians (i.e. a sphere). A method implemented by the device is also described. The field of the invention is particularly that of video projectors for virtual or mixed reality applications.
