Abstract: An external microphone array is configured to be used with a hearing aid and comprises a number of microphones configured to detect one or more sound signals from a sound source and means for wirelessly sending the detected sound signal to at least one hearing aid. The external microphone array comprises means for automatically determining the direction of the sound source either by: a) receiving a wireless signal transmitted from a remote control; b) by receiving acoustic signals picked up by the hearing aid(s) and by further comparing the signals with signals received by the external microphone array. The external microphone array may e.g. take the form of a sphere, a hemi-sphere or a neckband.

Abstract: A hearing aid adapted for being worn by a user at or in an ear of the user comprises a) at least one input transducer for converting sound in an environment around the user to at least one electric input signal representing said sound; b) an output transducer for converting a processed output signal provided in dependence of said at least one electric input signal to stimuli perceivable to the user as sound; c) a feedback control system comprising an adaptive filer, the feedback control system being configured to provide an adaptively determined estimate (h*(n)) of a current feedback path (h(n)) from said output transducer to said at least one input transducer in dependence of c1) said at least one electric input signal, c2) said processed output signal, and c3) an adaptive algorithm. The hearing aid further comprises d) a database comprising a multitude (M) of previously determined candidate feedback paths (hm); and e) a controller configured to identify a change in the current feedback path (h(n)) based on the adaptively determined estimate (h*(n)) of the current feedback path and at least one of said multitude of previously determined candidate feedback paths (hm). A method of operating a hearing aid is further disclosed. The invention may e.g. be used in hearing aids, e.g. binaural hearing aid systems or headsets, or speakerphones, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: The present application relates to a system comprising a hearing aid, the hearing aid configured to be operated based on an estimation of a current listening effort of a hearing aid user. The system comprising an input unit for receiving an input sound signal from an environment of the hearing aid user and providing at least one electric input signal representing said input sound signal, an output unit for providing at least one set of stimuli perceivable as sound to the hearing aid user based on processed versions of said at least one electric input signal, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimator for determining an SNR in the environment of the hearing aid user, a processing unit connected to said input unit and to said output unit and comprising signal processing parameters of the system to provide processed versions of said at least one electric input signal, a memory unit configured to store reference sets of SNR and pulse transition time (PTT) of the hearing aid user, at least a first and a second physiological sensor, wherein the system being configured to determine, based on the first physiological sensor, a first point in time at a first maximum upslope point of a first measured parameter, determine, based on the second physiological sensor, a second point in time at a second maximum upslope point of a second measured parameter, establish a current PTT by calculating a time difference between the first point in time and the second point in time, and determine, based on the current PTT and the stored reference sets of SNR and PTT, a current listening effort of the hearing aid user.

Abstract: There is provided a hearing aid with a Receiver In The Ear speaker assembly comprising an connecting member with electric conductors connecting a connector at one end, and a receiver housing with a receiver at the opposite end. A microphone housing with a microphone is attached to the connecting member. Placed along the connecting member, the microphone housing with the microphone is separated by a distance from the receiver in the receiver housing, thus reducing acoustic or mechanical feedback problems. Especially, the microphone and connector may share one common housing.
