Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector body and a suspension member. The suspension member extends along a center axis and comprises a plurality of tension members encased in a jacket. The suspension member has one end received within the connector body, and this one end has an end face extending at an angle relative to the center axis with ends of the plurality of tension members being exposed. A plurality of contact members are supported within the connector body, and each contact member contacts an exposed end face of at least one tension member to establish electrically conductive connections with the plurality of tension members.

Abstract: Magnet assemblies for electromechanical assemblies of elevator systems are described. The magnet assemblies include a magnet and first and second block assemblies arranged on opposite sides of the magnet. In some configurations, the block assemblies each include a respective friction engagement surface and are formed of layers of sheet metal, with a portion of the layers having blade teeth that form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail. In some configurations, each of the block assemblies are formed from powder metal sintering and include a monolithic tooth configuration configured to form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail. In some configurations each of the block assemblies includes an abrasive coating configured to form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail.

Abstract: An elevator system having a hoistway having a bottom landing with landing doors. An elevator car is in the hoistway, and a safety chain is coupled to the car and is in an open-state to stop the car and otherwise in an intact-state. A first sensor wirelessly transmits a first signal when the car is at the bottom landing, and a second sensor transmits a second signal when the doors are open. The system includes a control circuit including a first control element that receives the first signal indicating the car is at the bottom landing and a second control element that receives the second signal indicating the landing doors are open, and the control circuit changes state upon receipt of the signals, and the safety chain transitions to the open-state from the intact state when the control circuit changes state.
