Abstract: An elevator system control system is provided and includes a sensor system configured to sense elevator car conditions, a safety system signaling element to generate a safety signal indicative of an incident and a control system configured to react to the safety system signal. When the control system receives the safety signal indicating that an incident has occurred that requires engagement of at least one of primary and secondary brakes, the control system controls a deceleration rate during the incident by operating the primary brake, determining whether the deceleration rate is within a target range and adjusting the deceleration rate based on signals from the sensor system.

Abstract: A safety device configured to aid in braking movement of a hoisted object is provided including a mounting frame. A brake block is connected to the mounting frame and is operably coupled to a safety brake. An inner block assembly is disposed between the mounting frame and the brake block. Abstract: An electronic safety actuation device for braking an elevator car includes a safety brake movable between a non-braking position and a braking position, a first electronic safety actuator operably coupled to the safety brake via a first link member, and a second electronic safety actuator operably coupled to the safety brake via a second link member. Operation of the first electronic safety actuator applies a force to the first link member to move the safety brake from the non-braking position to the braking position. Operation of the second electronic safety actuator applies a force to the second link member to move the safety brake from the non-braking position to the braking position.

Abstract: A braking system resetting mechanism for a hoisted structure includes a guide rail (14) and a brake member (10). Also included is a brake member actuation mechanism (12) operatively coupled to the brake member and configured to magnetically engage the guide rail to actuate the brake member from a non-braking position to a braking position. Further included is an outer structure having a slot (64) configured to guide the brake member actuation mechanism, wherein the slot includes a first angled region and a second angled region that intersect at an outer location. Also included is a spring loaded lever (202) operatively coupled to the outer structure and configured to engage the brake member actuation mechanism during a resetting operation, wherein the spring loaded lever biases the brake member actuation mechanism toward the outer location of the slot of the outer structure to disengage the brake member actuation mechanism from the guide rail.

Abstract: A vertical bounce detection system of an elevator system includes at least one sensor operable to detect vertical movement of an elevator car in a hoistway. The vertical bounce detection system also includes a processing system communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and a memory system having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processing system, cause the vertical bounce detection system to determine a bounce energy level of the elevator car based on sensor data from the at least one sensor. The instructions further cause the vertical bounce detection system to compare the bounce energy level to a bounce condition threshold. A speed reduction of the elevator car is commanded to continue movement of the elevator car at a reduced speed based on determining that the bounce energy level exceeds the bounce condition threshold.
