    摘要: A method for transmitting information from a radio base station node to a first mobile station and a second mobile station is disclosed herein. The first and second mobile stations are paired on and share a same carrier frequency, TDMA frame, and time slot in a wireless communication system. Further, the first and second mobile stations are allocated on a first and second VAMOS sub-channel, respectively. The method includes transmitting a GMSK modulated SACCH burst of a SACCH block in a predetermined time slot and TDMA frame on one of the first and second VAMOS sub-channel. The method further includes simultaneously muting the other of the first and second VAMOS sub-channels in the predetermined time slot and TDMA frame.

    摘要: Methods and arrangements are provided where signaling of the modulation type by means of rotation of the training sequence is provided. For each modulation type, a set of rotation angles is chosen. These sets have no element in common. New training sequences are generated by rotating one original training sequence. The rotation angle that minimizes the PAPR of the transmit signal can be chosen. At the receiver side, knowing the original training sequence, the receiver estimates blindly the rotation angle among the known possible rotation angles. The estimated rotation angle in the receiver maps to a unique modulation type.

    摘要: A radio communications system conducts radio communications using basic physical channels. Each basic physical channel defines a time slot and a radio frequency for transmission. Radio communication is established between a radio base station and multiple UEs over the same basic physical channel. Three or four subchannels are provided in the same basic physical channel to simultaneously support three or four full rate UE communications, seven or eight half rate UE communications, or other equivalent combinations. A first baseband transmitter chain can map full rate data corresponding to first and second full rate UE communications (or equivalent) as adaptive quadrature phase shift keying, AQPSK, signals onto a first and a second of the three subchannels. A second baseband transmitter chain can map full rate data corresponding to a third and/or fourth full rate UE communication (or equivalent) as phase shifted signals onto a third of the three subchannels.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for retransmission processing in a communication receiver includes improving the performance of Incremental Redundancy (IR) combining and retransmission processing at minimal increased complexity. One aspect of these improvements involves the use of prior decoding results, if the decoding block quality is above a threshold value, rather than or in addition to prior demodulation results, in retransmission processing. That is, the teachings herein propose selectively using the hard bit decisions obtained from decoding previously transmitted data blocks, to improve the decoding of retransmitted data blocks.

    摘要: A network performs blind detection of the VAMOS capability, at or above a predetermined SCPIR level, of mobile stations. The network transmits an AQPSK modulated message having a predetermined SCPIR level on a control channel or non-traffic portion of a traffic channel, and monitors the mobile station for an anticipated action taken in response. In some embodiments, the AQPSK modulated message is repeated to increase the probability of its reception. In some embodiments, AQPSK modulated messages are transmitted at varying SCPIR levels, to determine a minimum SCPIR level at which the mobile terminal is operative in VAMOS mode. The VAMOS capability and SCPIR level of mobile stations may be recorded, so that they may later be paired for VAMOS operation.
