An apparatus includes a processing system configured to service a MAC PDU. Here, the MAC PDU includes a MAC header and at least one MAC SDU. The MAC header includes a transmission sequence number (TSN) having a length greater than 6 bits. Further, the processing system is configured to read the MAC header and to transport the MAC PDU in accordance with the MAC header between a MAC and a PHY utilizing one or more transport blocks over one or more transport channels.

The systems and/or methods can provide cross-layer optimization by directly transporting or communicating data to a particular protocol layer. The MAC header can allow a portion of data (e.g., PDUs, SDUs, etc.) to bypass at least one protocol layer above the MAC protocol layer for efficient and optimized processing of such data.

    摘要: A method includes sending to a receiving device from a transmitting device a Radio Link Control (RLC) re-transmission scheme selected from a plurality of RLC re-transmission schemes, and using the selected and sent scheme at least at one of the receiving device and the transmitting device. In another exemplary non-limiting embodiment the method includes detecting, at the receiver, a gap in RLC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) sequence numbers, associating a timer with the gap, and starting the timer when the gap is detected. In still another exemplary non-limiting embodiment, the method includes detecting a gap in a RLC PDU sequence, monitoring a HARQ channel for a period of time to determine if a predetermined bit has changed, and determining if a transmission is lost.

    摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate employing a paging indicator channel in connection with high speed channels in a wireless communications network. A paging indicator transmission can be sent on the paging channel to one or more mobile devices. The paging indicator indicates that additional information such as a full paging messages, other control plane data or other user plane data is expected to be transmitted at a specific time instant (e.g., subframe) on the associated high speed channel. A set of parameters can be transmitted on common channels that specify a set of associated subframes in a high speed channel. Mobile devices can analyze the set of parameters to determine the associated subframes and receive the subframes in accordance with a schedule.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for a learning-based determination of semi-persistent scheduling of data-packet flow wireless communication. A packetized data flow served to a wireless terminal is fully scheduled for an initial period of time in order to collect statistics associated with scheduled packet sizes (Ss) and inter-packet times (Ts). Analysis of a cumulative distribution of {S, T} pairs indicate whether a characteristic packet size (S0) and size dispersion (D0) are associated with the cumulative distribution. Inter-time intervals associated with the characteristic size and dispersion complete a transport format. Semi-persistent scheduling is utilized for a packetized flow when a characteristic transport format can be extracted, or learned, from the accumulated statistics. Extracted transport formats can be employed to optimize scheduling efficiency upon handover.
