Abstract: A contact device includes a fixed terminal, a moving contactor, a moving yoke, and a bus bar. The moving contactor moves from a closed position where a moving contact is in contact with a fixed contact to an open position where the moving contact is out of contact with the fixed contact, and vice versa. The moving yoke moves, as the moving contactor moves, in a direction of movement of the moving contactor. The bus bar generates, when energized, a magnetic field having a direction aligned with the direction of movement of the moving contactor. The bus bar is arranged, with respect to the moving yoke when the moving contactor is currently located at the closed position, in a direction in which the moving contactor moves from the open position toward the closed position.

Abstract: A control system is designed to control an interrupter. The interrupter is started by a startup current to interrupt a main electric circuit. The startup current flows through an auxiliary electric circuit and has a current valve equal to or greater than a predetermined value. The control system includes a driving unit and a driven unit. The driving unit includes an intermediate electrical path to be connected to the main electric circuit. The driven unit is to be connected to the auxiliary electric circuit. When an abnormal current having a current value equal to or greater than a prescribed value flows through the intermediate electrical path, the driving unit uses, as a drive source for driving the driven unit, the abnormal current flowing through the intermediate electrical path. The driven unit supplies the auxiliary electric circuit with the startup current by being driven by the driving unit.

Abstract: An interrupter system includes a first coil and an interrupter electrically connected to the first coil. The interrupter includes: a first terminal; a second terminal electrically connected to the first terminal; a third terminal electrically separated from the first terminal and the second terminal; a heat generating element electrically connected to the third terminal; and an explosive configured to be ignited by the heat generating element to produce a gas for interrupting an electrical connection between the first terminal and the second terminal. The first coil is electrically connected to the heat generating element via the third terminal. Moreover, the first coil is configured to, when an abnormal current flows between the first terminal and the second terminal, generate an electric power for igniting the explosive from the abnormal current.

Abstract: A bus bar of a contact device includes at least one electric path piece selected from a reverse and a forward electric path piece extending along a direction of current flowing through a moving contactor. The moving contactor is positioned between the reverse electric path piece and a fixed contact in moving directions of the moving contactor with the moving contactor positioned in the closed position. The reverse electric path piece allows current to flow therethrough in an opposite direction from current flowing through the moving contactor. The forward electric path piece is positioned on a same side as the fixed contact relative to the moving contactor in the moving directions of the moving contactor with the moving contactor positioned in the closed position. The forward electric path piece allows current to flow therethrough in a same direction as current flowing through the moving contactor.

Abstract: The contact device switches between a closed state where a movable contact is in contact with the fixed contact and an open state where the movable contact is apart from the fixed contact as the movable element moves. The bus bar is electrically connected to the fixed contact. A magnetic field generated by a current flowing through the bus bar when the contact device is in the closed state applies, to the movable element, force oriented such that the movable element is maintained at a location where the contact device is in the closed state. In such a positional relationship, the bus bar and the electromagnetic device are disposed.

Abstract: An electromagnetic relay includes a contactor including a fixed contact and a movable contact, and an electromagnet device for moving the movable contact. The electromagnet device includes a coil generating a first magnetic flux by energization, a tubular body including a permanent magnet generating a second magnetic flux in a direction identical to a direction of the first magnetic flux and having a hollow extending in a center axis direction, a movable element disposed in the hollow of the tubular body and reciprocating in the center axis direction, and a yoke forming a magnetic circuit passing together with the movable element and the tubular body. The magnetic circuit allows at least one of the first and second magnetic fluxes to pass through the magnetic circuit. The electromagnet device is configured to, when the coil is energized, move the movable contact to a first position by attracting the movable element with the first magnetic flux and the second magnetic flux. The electromagnet device is configured to, when energization of the coil is suspended, move the movable contact to a second position different from the first position. This electromagnetic relay is easily designed and reduces power consumption at a low cost.
