    Abstract: In a bidirectional switch of a power converter, a first terminal thereof is connected to a connection node between a first switching element and a second switching element. A resonant capacitor is connected between the first terminal of the bidirectional switch and a second DC terminal. A resonant inductor is connected to a second terminal of the bidirectional switch. A regenerative element is connected between the resonant inductor and the second DC terminal. A first control unit controls the first switching element and the second switching element. A second control unit controls the bidirectional switch. A limiter limits the absolute value of a voltage variation rate of a voltage applied between the first and second terminals of the bidirectional switch to a threshold value or less.

    Abstract: In a power converter, a plurality of resonant capacitors are provided one to one for a plurality of switches, respectively. Each of the plurality of resonant capacitors is connected between a first terminal of a corresponding one of the plurality of switches and a second DC terminal. A controller controls a plurality of first switching elements, a plurality of second switching elements, and the plurality of switches. When determining that two-phase resonant currents corresponding to two switching circuits belonging to a plurality of switching circuits flow simultaneously through a resonant inductor, the controller performs control of shifting respective ON periods of the first switching element and the second switching element in one switching circuit out of the two switching circuits.

    Abstract: A snubber circuit includes a clamp circuit and a voltage conversion circuit. The clamp circuit is configured to absorb electrical energy of a main circuit from a pair of secondary-side voltage points on a secondary side of the main circuit to clamp a secondary-side voltage. The main circuit is of insulating type and is configured to perform electric power conversion. The voltage conversion circuit which is of insulating type is electrically connected to a pair of primary-side voltage points on a primary side of the main circuit and is configured to subject, to direct-current conversion, the direct-current voltage generated by the clamp circuit and output the direct-current voltage to the pair of primary-side voltage points. The voltage conversion circuit includes a transformer, a first capacitance component electrically connected to a primary winding wire of the transformer, and a second capacitance component electrically connected to a secondary winding wire of the transformer.

    Abstract: When a magnitude of a voltage between a pair of first voltage points in a main circuit exceeds a first clamp value, a first clamp circuit absorbs electrical energy of the main circuit from the pair of first voltage points to clamp the voltage to the first clamp value. When a magnitude of a voltage between a pair of second voltage points in the main circuit falls below a second clamp value, a second clamp circuit injects electrical energy to the main circuit from the pair of second voltage points to clamp the voltage to the second clamp value. A voltage conversion circuit performs voltage conversion between a first clamp voltage defining a first clamp value and a second clamp voltage defining a second clamp value.
